Funky I'm sure there is good in these coaches and they do stuff to benefit others, but I don’t believe it is the driving force in these types of decisions.

I used to think more like you. Thought of College Football as a big ideal, all these coaches and players being almost heroes.

I have changed my views over the years with so much crap. I still watch because the games are so good, but I have stopped idealizing it. Again not saying some genuinely good people aren't involved as well.

Now you are implying he was tougher of cameras. Maybe speculative is a better term. Not saying it is unreasonable to think that way.

I'm guessing he probably melted the phone by what he does in front of the camera because that's a snapshot, immediate reaction to bad news. When he, or any other coach, is given time to 'savor' something, they like all of us will probably react in a more restrained fashion.

As I said, most of us are the same way in that we react differently once we've had time to think about things - thankfully for us, nobody's recording us when that arsehole cuts us off in traffic......

It was a set up! Coach said you don't need a gun unless you are hunting and don't trust women you don't know. Ergo the woman set them up with sex talk and devilish moves no young man can turn away from. She smoked weed with them and tickled their pickle while sliding a stolen gun under the seat. Got out and texted cop that the cheese is in the trap. This is almost to crazy to believe but it did!?

That's the right attitude to have. They're just people doing a job, nothing more and nothing less. Every single one has personality and character traits that are good and others that aren't so good.

Trying to turn them into anything more is a fool's game.

Is there a reason this is 81 pages?

I'm not reading it all. Just curious.

If this was major NCAA violations or a robbery or rape maybe...but we've had SEC players with those very charges that have had smaller threads.

But a pretty common weapons charge that'll be plead down to a misdemeanor for a first-time offender?
81-page thread seems like overkill.

Is it because it's Alabama?

Cam Robinson going to Bama hurt

very sorry for the young man that all this that he brought down on himself - very stupid

Nick tells the guys - over and over - the little things equal up to the big things

this is not a Bama thing and it is not a Nick thing

these young men just have to say no

I am not going to do those things -

Don't forget that the players involved are also from Louisiana and it happened in Louisiana.

Offseason thread topics don't get a whole lot better than this one.....

You have it correct. It amazes me to watch grown men beg for acknowledgement from kids. When the players walk down Victory Hill, they have ear buds on and mostly ignore the crowds. I enjoy the games but at the end of the day it is just a game.

Look at the very first word in the title of this thread and you will have your answer.

It is what it is man, and "Bama" is an attention getter whether the news is good or bad.

This is a common event for student athletes to be smoking marijuana in a car with two guns? one of them stolen?

kids these days. I don't think I'd survive college if I was there now.

You're right. Future top 10 picks get hit with felony gun charges all the time.

Nothing to see here folks.

I know it's fun for you drama queens to put the words "felony" and "weapons" in the same sentence to make it sound more serious, but yeah, it's pretty common.

Look at all the law experts.

He's not going to be charged with a felony. 100% guaranteed.

I'm just saying a misdemeanor and a 1 or 2 game suspension doesn't warrant an 81-page thread.

Link another story about a likely top 10 draft pick from the SEC getting arrested for felony gun possession.

I'll wait.

Uhh. He HAS been charged with a felony. 100% guaranteed.

I think what you're trying to say is: although charged with a felony, he will be allowed to plead to a misdemeanor.

Have those two been euthanized yet for these crimes?

Of course not. Top 10 picks apparently get arrested on felony gun charges every week.

I'm glad that guy has opened my eyes to the ways of the world. How naive I was.

The felony is easier to beat than gun possession with cds which carries a severe mandatory sentence in LA.
