I agree that Bama will have success on the ground against Ole Miss. Last year, they rushed for 170 yards without Kenyan Drake and I could easily see them rushing for more this year.
In spite of that, Bama's only offensive score came on a 4th down bootleg by Sims after Ole Miss stopped three runs inside the 5 yard line.

That has me wondering: Can Coker or Bateman keep the Rebel outside defenders honest like Sims did? How has Bama improved their red zone efficiency from last year? Fortunately for Ole Miss, the team with the most rushing yards doesn't automatically win. Should be a good game

For Bama to win, the 2015 offensive line is going to have to play better than 2014 offensive line did in Oxford last year. Home field and having Kelly back at center will probably help in that regard.

I think Alabama may need north of 200 rushing yards to win.

Not in the same way. Kiffin will need to call plays that use the speed and aggressiveness of Ole Miss outside defenders against them / keep them honest.

Again, that will have to fall on a hopefully improved offensive line. Also, I think we may have completely abandoned the idea of FGs, so maybe having four downs every set will help our conversion rate.

Yeah, it wouldn't shock me if Saban never attempted another field goal . Statistically, that is probably the smart play regardless of your kicker even if everyone gave Freeze grief about it 2 years ago.

And yes, Kenyan Drake worries me quite a bit. That jet sweep could be the replacement for a mobile QB

I feel like Drake is gonna have a big play on a middle screen... I also feel like Jacob Coker sucks donkey dick and that may be his only TD pass to go along with 3 picks.

Agreed and I think they will get there.

I think Kiffin should run counters and misdirection to take advantage of an over-aggressive defense

They'll run that WR drag to get Drake in space against our LBs

Yeah, I think my gut was right to worry more about Drake. Henry could run for 100+ but our linebackers can tackle him and have a chance to limit explosive plays outside the red zone.

Drake is a different story.

Choker the meth head is gonna royally shite the bed... he'll have more sacks/interceptions than completions. Henry will have 30+ yards per carry, but the offensive wizard known as Kiffin will opt to hand the ball to him only three times and elect to pass all game.

Freeze calls in the third string defense just before halftime.

Worse that losing Drake was losing Kelly (Center). The Oline just kind of lost any push after that. Ole Miss smelled blood, we were weakened.

It should be a totally different dynamic this year...on both sides of the ball.

Understandable. We lost our center for the last part of the Lsu game last year and our anemic run game got even worse - don't even mention pass pro!

We'll see how round 2 goes Saturday.

I agree Bama should have some success I'm not sure they'll be better this year than last year and I haven't seen anything during the first 2 weeks to convince me.

I just started watching the OM/ Fresno game earlier (then had to leave for my daughter's soccer practice). But, from the few minutes I watched, I feel a little better about our running game vs. the ole miss D. Fresno got stoned a lot, but also opened some holes at times. I still haven't seen the other three quarters, but I think we'll have at least some success running the ball.

From the Bama board. TIFWIW.

"Friend and business associate attended practice yesterday. Said that the O worked on wildcat package for a little bit. The QB was Mr. Kenyan Drake."

I totally agree that Bama will run. I think Drake is the x factor though in determining whether those yards turn into points.

You're going to need explosive plays/an edge threat to score more than last year. 200 yards between the 20s from Henry aren't as scary as 1-2 explosive plays from Drake in the Red zone

I think Alabama will use Drake very creatively and he will overshadow Henry in this game.

I am glad to see how well this kid has come back from last year.

It looks like Bama's run game has been a little more reliant on the big play rather than grinding it out. The right side of Bama's O-line doesn't seem to be getting a push as consistently as years past.

Honestly, Henry isn't the type of back that can just bang out five yards every play like and Ingram or Richardson. He's just too tall. He's a sprinter and more of a big play guy. The drawback is he needs a bigger hole to get through. He's deceptively fast once he gets in the open. Everyone, our fans included, see his size and think of him as a power back, and he does seem to have made an effort to get better in that area, but it isn't his strength. I don't know how well he'll do vs ole miss. If big holes aren't there, I'd prefer to see drake and Harris. Most of my fellow Bama fans disagree with me vehemently, but they're wrong. And I really like Henry. I'm just honest about his strengths and weaknesses.
