Toothless, uneducated drunk hillbillys!

After LSU beat them last fall, a drunk WVU fan challenged my wife, yes my wife, to a fight.

Needless to say, I will never travel to Morgantown again, and I am no prude. I can handle cursing, drunkeness, and generally laugh and scoff at ridiculous over the top behavior, but our experience in Morgantown was scary.

The tsips can have all they want with the Mountaineers.

Not sure why some of our fans are such idiots. Sorry to hear that happened to you. I know a lot of the LSU fans we talked to said they had a good time, but I suppose there is always an idiot (or idiots) If ya ever come back up here, its drinks on me.

Well, the rumor is that it'll be one of the kick-off games not a home and home so Morgantown won't even come into it.

This could be a tough matchup. We'll likely be breaking in a new QB. The biggest concern is going up against that high powered passing attack after losing our top 4 CBs (Milliner, Fulton, Belue, Dixon).

I thought, as part of the exchange last season that gave UGA the kickoff game in the Dome(Boise was scheduled to open in Oxford)
, that Ole Miss got to take their turn being punked by Boise first in the dome in 2014...

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Morgantown gets a bad reputation based on isolated incidents. The gameday environment has improved drastically over the past few years.

No one ever mentions the story about how WVU fans stopped to help the LSU fans broken down on the interstate, paid to have their vehicle towed, drove them to the game and let them tailgate all day long without asking for a penny in return.

Sure, we have idiots, but it's no greater than any other fan base in the nation. It just isn't.

I apologize for the incident that natiger mentioned, but I have been to every Mountaineer home game since 2004 and have very very rarely seen the behavior that people talk about happening.

Didn't a LSU fan end up in the hospital after rocks were thrown thru the car window and he and his pregnant wife were pulled out of the car? Didn't he end up with a broken jaw and eye socket and was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital from Morgantown?

There were many things going on with this story.

1) The woman stated in an interview that she did not believe the incident was in any way related to the football game. The assailants were not wearing school colors of either school.

2) There were reports from the Morgantown police that the story may have been untrue as the people who claimed it had happened changed their story more than once

3) If they say it happened where it supposedly happened, there is absolutely zero chance that there wasn't bumper to bumper traffic and many many people rushing to help. It just wouldn't have happened.

1. it really doesn't matter who it was that attacked these people... what matters is it happened.

2. i'd like to see something stating it was all bullshite. until then, it happened.

No. It is. I have been to a good many of the venues in the south and even some out west. WVU was the worst and it was not even close. I have never, EVER felt unsafe at a college football game until my wife, my 13 year old some and I went to Morgantown.

Sorry man, your fans are the worst and it is not even close. Before the game, during the game , after the game and even when we were in the hotel. Place sux.

I would go to BDS and get beat 36-0, 100 times before I go back to Morgantown..

Plzzz. I live in NOLA and Ive been to many LSU games. fans are no different. Are there some drunk students at WVU-yes. But they are at PSU, Ohio State, LSU, and Auburn too.

FWIW since WVU started selling beer in the stadium and instituted a policy where fans cant leave at halftime and return, incidents are far fewer. Luck predicted this would happen. Many thought selling beer in the stadium would make things worse, but it has improved them.

Make sure your life, auto and whatever-else insurance is up to date while in Morgantown! If staying in Pittsburgh, make sure to visit the Flight 93 National Memorial (about 1 HR from Pitt.

That's just how it's played out mostly. It's pretty much an SEC team and whoever though.

And to think there is still people on here that would rather have WVU in the SEC over Mizzou.
