As for excuses, I was referencing your fanbase in general. Some are willing to accept what happened last season, and some still insist on a myriad of excuses that are easily debunked (playing LSU the game before).
Look, it's gonna be a good game. You guys like to talk about Saban, but I like our chances with Sumlin in this scenario. After all, he was two steps ahead of your beloved Saban and Smart all game long.

Well we had never seen so much persistent shite talking prior to a season telling us we would be doormats and to bring lube. So I guess it's only natural that Aggies on the rant be a bit more vocal than usual, no? Off the internet, none of my A&M friends seem to be too cocky at all. Proud of how the team performed last year, and looking fwd to this season, but not cocky. I know that most of my close friends expect to lose to Bama in a close one.

Its also funny because we get called cocky, but its only the Bama fans proclaiming the win as a fact. Most Ags acknowledge this should be a close hard fought game that we probably win.

Who is defending them? By pointing out the annoying nature of your fanbase that is defending them? If i said bama would win because of suprior talent and coaching, would that be defending them, or would it be pointing out an opinion that many would agree with?
Or is simply shaing an opinion that your guys have gotten a bit too big for your britches (feel free to put that on a shirt) defending in your eyes?
Believe it or not, alligence to a football team does not prohibit you from being observant.

I know this will easily be chalked up to bias, but every Aggie knows that we roll LSU or Florida if we play them at the end of 2012. We got significnalty better with pretty much each passing game. No one in the nation (aside from maybe Bama) would want a piece of the A&M that was playing vs. MSU, Bama, Mizzou, OU. It was a different team...not only clear progression from Johnny, but the whole team.
I wouldn't call it cockiness, but Ags were proud and every one of them knows we were cream of the crop by the end of the season. Everyone I know is just hoping that we pick up roughly where we left off with little to no drop off. CFB is funny, you never know.

Then what are you up in arms about? Fans of the winner of the last two national titles think they're going to win. So do the fans of an improving team coming off an 11-2 campaign and returning Heisman winner. Who would of thunk it?
