If that line is legit, I'm taking LSU, the points and a hefty amount of cash winnings.

LSU defense isn't what it was last year, but are improving. Alabama's defense last was better than this year's (imo) and Mett torched them without Cam Cameron. This year Mett is MUCH improved against a worse (but still great) Bama defense this year.

Not sure what prompts a 10 point line in this game.

As I said yesterday, not a day goes by when Finebaum doesn't bring in a lacky to reassure him that Bama can whip LSU.

I had heard this and I took a look at recent history and Bama hasn't beaten LSU by double digits at Bryant Denny since 1990. So it would definitely be out of the ordinary if that happens.

Prolly basing the spread on how many points LSU's D gives up per game (currently 22pts avg) vs Alabama's D per game (11pts)?

Home field +3 and your logic. Maybe that's what he was thinking. Either way, I wouldn't touch it...

LSU has the offense to challenge Bama in both the pass and run game...thats huge. The young Bama corners will have to grow up quick the next few weeks to even have a chance vs Landry and Beckham. They are legit concerns for the Bama defense

I think most people being honest with themselves know how this will likely play out. It will be tight & hard-fought.
We discussed the different looks on offense this season- but we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if the scores for both reach 30+. But it wouldn't be a shock to see a 13-10 game with these two, either....

This is what I'm thinking too. Les knows he will be able to move the ball in the air...

I'm going to drop an entire paycheck on LSU to cover if the line stays at or above 9 points. That's the easiest cash I've ever seen.

This man knows his football. 6 years of 10 pt or less reg season margins is all the proof anyone should need. This will be another close one.

Do it, when the public starts betting paychecks on a side is when Vegas wins big! But hey, at leat you'd still have the pleasure of a 11point Bama win!

Vegas wants even money on both sides of a game. They never lose

This is where you are wrong. As someone who has watched every Bama game this year and last year it's my opinion that this years defense is currently playing better. Didn't start the season better but has quickly made huge strides and is playing better than any defense in the SEC besides UF and I'd say it's real close.

Plus, the offense seems to have finally clicked on and still has room for improvements. If Bama plays its A game on both sides of the ball and doesn't have any TO's then Bama will cover.

Danny Sheridan didn't even get the Mobile mayoral race right. He's an idiot.

We have a better pass rush this year and LSU's is not as good. That's a very simplistic way of looking at it but I think it will be the difference. Mett is not very mobile and will shut down vs a good pass rush.

Well, I thought UF might have a bunch of sacks against LSU because of mobility issues and their stout D, but they didn't touch him. LSU didn't throw a lot, but still... And I was even more surprised that we ran on them pretty easy without passing much. Our O-line looked really good.

Also, these are the two best receivers I've ever seen in one year at LSU (very physical and fast), so I think that makes LSU a lot tougher this year (to go along with an RB that's averaged over 150 yards per game against the three best Ds he faced and is tied for 2nd in the nation for TDs). LSU's O is tough to defend right now. It's very different than in the past (though last year LSU played over their head on offense against Bama).

LSU is a tough team to figure out this year. The Ole Miss game will be interesting to see how LSU performs on the road again. I do think a 10 point line is too high. I think Alabama would win by about a TD if they played today. I wouldn't be willing to go any more than 7 points though.

Love him or hate him, top 5 sports handicapper. He mostly takes underdogs in good spots and situations. I am sure he would take lsu at those odds. USA Today certainly respects his opinion and pays him for his odds. He is from Mobile BTW.
