Every move the Texans have made is paying off. The haul of picks from Cleveland has set this franchise up for the next decade and maybe beyond. It's rare when a team gets it this right. Congrats!

This is because of the rookie wage scale that was introduced in 2012. The biggest advantage in all of professional sports is having a good QB on a rookie contract.
By paying Cousins $50M/year, they are pissing away this advantage.
