The loser of the battle probably ends up transferring

No battle there. As with all the positions on that team, playing/practicing against the elite makes them ALL better....it's not really fair.

Doubt it - loser of Mac Jones and Tua might eventually, but the winner of that is the next QB after Hurts (if Hurts is the QB).

That was Lane Kiffin's best coaching job of his career imo

Naw bro. This guy is the all-time season passing leader in Alabama history. He was a running back his freshman and sophomore years and couldn't even get a QB job in the CFL.

He's also my favorite Alabama football player of all-time.

BLAKE MOTHAfrickIN SIMS

Also Hurts is the QB and if there is a "race" it was fabricated to push Hurts

You can talk about measurable all night and all day, he took a shot to the face on the road for a fumble touchdown and shook it off like it was nothing

let the team down the field for a go ahead touchdown with under 5 minutes to play in the national championship

He's got what it takes above the shoulders everything else can be worked on

I love Sims (also one of my favorite bama players of the Saban era, but that list has grown a lot over the years) but he was also in a perfect system - mainly he could throw the deep ball beautifully and we had Cooper who would embarrass defenders consistent.

Unfortunately, that was one of only 2 series in the entire game more than 5 plays. Lack of possession by the offense, largely because we had no legitimate passing game, led to Clemson's 99 offensive plays. It's nearly impossible for even a great defense to beat a good offense if they're given 99 plays.

Edit: The defense also forced 2 turnovers on Clemson's side of the field. The offense managed 3 points out of it.

I thought the hold that sealed the gap did that.

LSU never crossed Alabama's 30 yard line. Take a second to digest that. At no point in the game would a first down put LSU in the red zone.

Don't worry though, im sure a Canada is enough to make up a difference like that. He's been a college football coach for 23 years and has ascended all the way to LSU offensive coordinator. We like to call that a meteoric rise in the biz, a budding star on y'alls hands. I really don't see how Alabama can contend with LSU this year regardless of the quarterback

I hope Hurts is the starter in November.

You linked a 2/5/17 article. Really/

Is this where you're hearing the rumblings? From an article that says, "Alabama's new OC Steve Sarkisian?"

....let alone beat LSU.

LSU needed to at least make to the red zone once in that game to score....it never happened.

Right, so why would we want to start true freshman again? I mean whatever the coaches decide I am with, but I would be very surprised if Hurts isn't the starter next year.

LSU fans please don't change. Greatest talent ever in history held back perpetually by terrible coaching or QB or plots at SEC office or refs ... which cause them to lose 4 games and finish in the middle of the SEC pack every year.

As proof of ref cheating, they often post a single still picture "proving" something or other. Never mind that the full action video showed bobbling the ball or whatever... it is always "proof."

Here is a test for my Tiger friends. How many Alabama players are holding on this play from 2009 NC game against Texas? Answer below...

Answer.. no one is holding ... no whistle, no penalty, no foul, touchdown for future Saints great tailback.

I've been saying Tau was going to be a plus for them for quite a while. Actually, the Church of the Highlands was one of the main reasons he chose Alabama. His family is moving to the state. He is not going anywhere. The QB play has improved drastically. He is a lefty. Hurts is right-handed. I've said this also: don't be surprised if they BOTH don't line up in the backfield with a new offense.

Oh, and I'm hearing one of the reasons turnovers are way down is the new OC. Hell, they never even knew if Kiffen was going to show up half the time. This guy is no nonsense. That's figuring in as well.

From what I'm also hearing, the DBs are as good or better than the past overall. It's the QBs. They now have 3 good ones. Tau isn't going anywhere. He won't transfer. He's not made that way. Dude's gonna serve any way he can and when he is allowed. He may say Aloha which means hello and goodbye after every play to everyone, but that's about it. He's in for the long haul and he's pretty damn good. He'll push Hurts. Could beat him out. Probably will see action WITH him - like I said, same backfield!

Interesting. Did Tua visit the Highlands while on campus?

It's a great church/congregation, I have a senior at UA that's been a very active member at Highlands for a couple of years and absolutely loves it.
