This post is like the new Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: of 1999.

"I saw this on another board."

The only thing I can tell you is that if Bama is buying cars for 4th string, 3* backups and walk ons, the rest of the SEC is fricked forever.

Why you bringing Auburn into this?

And I was a grad student at Auburn 2014-2016. I remember driving by the athletic dorms on the day before move out day and saw six tricked out Chargers lined up in the loading zone.

It's the SEC big six. We take care of our players the right way. Quietly.

They make the school millions of dollars. Who cares if they get a dodge charger.

This. LSU players have nice new cars, auburn players do, Texas a&m buys recruits new cars and they drive them to a rival school. It happens everywhere

ETA: I've heard from a few different people (from multiple SEC schools) that what they do is a booster that owns a dealership will hold a "public auction" that only the players know about and they will go and buy brand new chargers for a like $100.

Michigan's hate stems from Najee Harris sticking with Bama. They were so sure that he'd flip that they had to come up with some reason why he didn't.

And Hand several years back. And that arse kicking we put on their sorry team in Dallas.

This gets posted at least once annually and every year it's the same non-story. Compliance at Bama (and most SEC schools) requires all students to provide info on their vehicle including; whose name is the vehicle in, is there are car note, who is paying that car note, relationship of person to S.A. if there is a car note being paid, proof of insurance, who is paying insurance, and more.

This is updated every year or every time an athlete has a new vehicle. Not saying Bama is spotless, but I would be stunned if we ever got busted over something big like cars. It's just something that is watched too closely.

Even when players get rims on their cars (usually players are getting them from the same place) compliance requires verification on where down payment came from, who is making monthly payments, etc.

Easy to find photos. That's why I added the disclaimer.

You're right every single football parking lot will look exactly the same.

I'm glad we have all finally come to the understanding that players having decent cars is just going to be a thing.

Operation Red Dog was fun though.

you heard a fairy tale. Dealers have to show a record of the inventory for tax purposes and insurance purposes. they have to keep track of where this inventory goes. b/c of this paper trail, and many other reasons, what you heard is simply not accurate.

It isn't THAT crazy. But just about every college has a hookup with a local dealership.

I'm good friends with Destin Hood. One of the first things I ever asked him when I met him was about the things Alabama gets for players

That's not exactly relevant. Dealerships can still sell a car for whatever they want to. It's up to them how much profit or loss they take on a vehicle.
