Yup, because things in life never change and college football programs never ever rise or fall. The CFB landscape is a static environment with no fluctuations.

Actually yes. College football is a pretty static environment. 47–9–2 is static

Just don't say anything other than "yes they are a good team" in the weeks leading up to the game.

I concur. It was mistake by Prewitt because you are dealing with media who are trying to fabricate a story, and it surely will be taken out of context.

That being said, fans shouldn't get so worked up over it. Whether or not it leads to an intangible edge for a team or not, who the hell really knows? Fans getting mad over stuff like baffles the hell out of me, tho. Pretty sure I saw a few Memphis players "trash talkin'" and shite last week per the media... zero fricks given

I don't think any fans are "getting mad" at all. Any examples of that?

Literally the entire reason this is a story.

They, like everybody else, just think his comments were quite silly. Your guy is the one saying Alabama isn't good,

If you think that's what he said, then you're an idiot.

And a pussy.

Not necessarily. If Ole Miss wins this year and every consecutive year until 2051 then this series is tied up, bruh.

Exactly, nobody is mad. It's just humorous, particularly what the media tries to do with it. It's just Ole Miss, what else are we supposed to talk about?

What a terrible article. They are "laughing" at nothing in particular. Ground breaking.

Firstly, this was brought to the attention of this board because a Bama fan thought that Cody was "talking shite" with his comments. I.E. mad.

Second, the article in question in this thread mentions fans bringing it up to players on twitter trying to say that Cody was again talking trash. Once again, mad.

The reason this is being covered is because Bama fans are in an uproar over the fact that Cody said they aren't quite as dominant, but still dominant, as they used to be.

And even calling it a "story" is pretty extreme. I mean, who in the media is really talking about it? SDS writes some hack article off of one Alabama quote in response to it and it's some big story? In this day and age of Twitter where anything a player says can be overblown, this isn't even a blip. Literally nobody is mad about it. If the players want to use it as motivation, as they claim to have done last year, than good, but the fans don't give a crap.

Welp, threads sure are popping up. Angry Gumps are likely calling into Finebaum making a big deal about it. I just assume it's happening. Hell, it would probably happen to the mouth-breathers in any fan base, not just Alabama.

Fans gonna fan.

You sound upset (you don't really, but I'm just going by your barometer of "mad" here).

Again, fans and players have to resort to these tactics to keep interest up for these types of games. Nobody is actually mad, just trying to find something to spark some interest in these cupcake weeks.

Jesus. People on Twitter? Really? That's your great example? I could show you examples of people on Twitter that are mad that puppies exist.

Google "Cody Prewitt". Articles regarding this quote on several major sports websites with angry comments.

The non-story has definitely resonated with fans, and subsequently rustled some jimmies on the interwebz.

I understand most of the reasonable Bama fans won't be rustled by this FWIW.

I hate puppies. And old people.

And especially oak trees.

Good lord dude. Ole Miss is playing Alabama. Not Boise or Memphis.

Hey, I'm just stating what the article says. Don't get so upset. I'm presenting information that was presented to me.
