I’ve seen this narrative going around the rant. Texas didn’t play well either. Special teams was a mess until the back up punter came in. Worthy dropped an easy TD. Jamison dropped an easy pick 6. Watts missed a clean shot on Young to end the game. Bijan tackled himself like 4 times on turf, also missed a handful of huge blocks. Jalen Ford had one of the worst 1st Quarters of football I ever seen at LB, but he redeemed himself. Bama got beat up by the refs justifiably, and it could have easily been worse. Texas played shitty too. People see the score & assume we played lights out or some shite. Who gives a frick if we were playing with a back up QB with his ankle hanging off the bone? You can objectively see Texas was not executing consistently at any level. Bama was bad, Texas was bad. Bryce Young sweeps it all under the rug again.

Bama isn’t very good at receiver. That’s all it boiled down to.

Impeccable sentence structure.

I’m sure it looked even better on The Facebook.

y'alls turf blows. I'm sure you agree. I was just waiting on someone to blow their knee out.

But yeah, I agree with you with the exception of your defense in the 3rd and 4th quarters. They shut us down.

By Bama winning by one point, you will not hear much from the Bammers. If UT had won, you would hear every excuse in the book. You will see how it works when you join the SEC.

I swear it was like the camera would never show the receivers down the field when Alabama had the ball.

I'd like to know what the hell was going on, but it's like the camera was focused so hard on Bryce that we rarely if ever saw them downfield unless the ball was being thrown.

Camera guy was constantly zoomed in too much or something.

Did not read but I think bama had like 20 penalties, that should rebuttal whatever you said, statistically they have never made that many mistakes

I saw a well coached team in Texas on the field on Saturday. Sark has Texas heading in the right direction. A struggle win is a struggle win, no matter how ugly. I hope this win wakes Alabama up because Texas punched us right in the mouth. One more thing, Gary Patterson as an extra brain on that Texas sideline is a nice one to have.

We didn't convert a 4th and 1 mostly due to slipping on the turf, but rather than blame the turf we blame the OC for calling a shotgun run on 4th and 1 to start with.

Lots of other slipping as well.

Alabama’s OL and WR looked questionable, while the entire team looked undisciplined.

They’re lucky Texas was playing with a gimpy, second string QB. Ewers would’ve lit them up for 300 yards + and a few TD. Texas likely scores 35 points or more with him.

This is a weird melt.

Arguing over who played worse to justify the margin of your defeat.

Was it the QB, or was it the speed receiver?

Absolutely no reason for a Southern team to have field turf.

Agreed. No southern school needs turf, esp one that surely has enough money to hire a grounds crew.

I'm sure the turf makes the early season games feel much hotter.

As with any fanbase as large as any of ours, you always get excuses from a handful. I believe you'd find this quoted comment is objectively false, per capita.

Yes, when you're as good as we have been for a long time you do see times when your own team beat itself. That's a fair argument sometimes. But you won't see us with sour grapes as often as many others here, by the average.

When we earn a loss* fair and square, I think we do a pretty damn good job owning it.

Opposite. I’m just combating the narrative that Texas had this incredible effort. Like we played beyond ourselves. “Bama just played sloppy which allowed Texas to hang around”. You’re more likely to see more WR separation vs our DBs in the Texas Tech game.

Not as good as we have been. Plus, our OC can't scheme or call plays that could create confusion for a defense and create openings for our receivers. That is something Sark is very good at doing and actively tries to do.

I don't think anyone who watched that game thought Texas played above and beyond themselves. You looked competent on offense and defense and well coached, and when you have good athletes like Texas always does, that means you are in pretty solid shape. Made some mistakes, had an injury at QB. I think the point was Alabama played a horrendously sloppy game (especially the 2nd/3rd qtrs), so much so that Texas played well but not out of their minds and almost won. And we really don't know what Texas is yet, so most people are going to focus on Alabama.

Texas may play like that the rest of the season and end up 9-3. Or, they might prove to be like past years and go 6-6. Nobody really knows.

Texas was very impressive to me. Especially on defense. Even though some of y'all said that you didn't play well either. I think I'm right in saying that after Richardson had the long run Bama had a total of 25 yards rushing. That's pitiful.

I've been a Bama fan now for fifty years and I saw a uninspired football team Saturday along with some coaches. Even CNS. I know he's mellowed out over the years, but somebody needs to put a foot in some asses on this team. If not, they'll drop two or three this season.
