Here are the 12 we have legit claims to, minus '41. Also left off are Saban's last two, simply because the graph was done a few years ago.
So, take these 12 + 2 by Saban not listed:
and Bama has 14 very solid claims.
Also, we need to add these five:
to bring the total up to 19. That would be a lot nicer. Add another this season and we have an even 20.

Wow... I had always heard Bama claimed a bunch of national championships that weren't legit but I didn't know all that. Whatever makes them feel better.

Just remember - every one of those "invalid" national championships was awarded by a group of people who believed Alabama to be #1.
In other words, none of them could be THAT ridiculous, especially the ones in the poll era.

Not sure if I'm reading your chart right, but I'm pretty sure in '75 that Oklahoma was #1 in both major polls, not Ohio State...

Some organizations, such as ESPN, only recognize wire service poll titles, for all schools, which Alabama has 10 of.
100% of AP and Coaches poll titles are claimed by the schools that were awarded them.
