It constantly brings in crowds of 15K. I'm not sure when baseball does that. Baseball is still 3rd though. Gaspard just isn't the right guy for the job and Mal won't do shite to upgrade our facilities so we can be a top tier program. It's the only sport we aren't dedicating a ton of resources to right now.

It wouldn't be bad for a 3rd sport. They've won 5 NCAA titles, which is 5 more than MSU has ever won

Because for some reason, we accept mediocrity in baseball now.
Pawlowski is a better coach than Slater (which isn't saying much), but I don't think he's the one to get us back to elite status in the SEC. And we've proven we can be there.

Outside of baseball, all other sports are very well funded. Baseball just gets left behind.

No. No, we can't. But Mitch Gaspard has probably sealed his fate. I'm not sure what it will matter though. Until Alabama decides to put money into baseball, like most all of our other programs, it will be behind the eight ball.

I wonder why that program gets left out in the cold? Being dominant in football and competitive in basketball is still frickin sweet though, so I'm not going to lose too much sleep over our crappy baseball team. I don't think I ever went to a single UA baseball game as a student, and hey, at least the Braves won last night!

There have been plans for years for a new baseball stadium, but I think the athletic administration has just come to the conclusion that without a lottery to subsidize the roster (like LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, etc.) any facility improvements will only go so far.
