As disgusting as it is, an Alabama national title would be worse. Whatever chance Oregon had is now gone with Ifo Ekpre Olomu out for the playoffs. Cooper and DeAndrew White would go in dry. Think WVU Clemson Orange Bowl.

Yes but the Rose Bowl is played first. Pulling for FSU because they have a much better chance against Bama than Oregon. IF Ohio State beats Bama, then I would pull for them over FSU in the MNCG

It is not Oregons Defense that FSU or Bama needs to worry about. Oregon's Offense is better than AUs this year or last year. Plus we know that they have a better D (who doesn't).

Why? So FSU can boast about beating two different SEC schools en route to a title? What's better about that?
As an Oregon resident and non-Duck fan, my worst nightmare is Oregon getting a convincing win over Bama. I agree that's even more unlikely now but even a broken clock is right twice a day so all the Ducks have to do is have the planets align just right. Bama would beat them 75% of the time but the Ducks just have to have good cards dealt their way on game day.
Because if the Ducks pull it off, you will never hear the end of how they dethroned the mighty SEC. It will be like when Broadway Joe won the Super Bowl.
Lastly, most people like Mariota whereas almost nobody like Jameis.
