I would've admitted that LSU could match bama's roster talent a few years ago. Definitely circa 2011.
These days though, Alabama's talent depth is RIDICULOUS. Our whole bench is full of 5 star recruits. Anthony Averett will be a first rounder, along with Minkah, Ronnie, and Trevon Diggs. Our new class of 5 stars isn't even on campus yet.
Maybe your first rounder DBs are better than our first rounders, but that's splitting hairs at your strongest position.
We have 6 running backs on the roster that could all legitimately start in the SEC. We have a 1000 yard rusher who might be 5th string this year.

See, thats where you're looking into high school star rankings a little too much. LSU gets its fair share of 5 star players as well. Our roster is loaded with 4 and 5 star players, both starters and backups, and has been for a long time. I'm looking at the players development after high school, in college, and transitioning into the pros. That's the best way to analyze a teams talent in college, by how many professional football players the team had on its roster. The players that go on to play football for a living at the highest level of competition in the sport. LSU holds its own against anybody in that regard and its not a debate, it's a fact. It's no coincidence that the schools at the top in producing nfl talent are the ones winning championships. That was my whole point. I only stated that LSU has been as talented as alabama for the past 10 years at least and it won't change anytime soon. Bama has had a huge coaching edge on LSU for a while now and that's why they've had such success in the past 5 years. LSU has just as much talent as bama does. We are the only team in the sec that can say that honestly, and one of the few in the nation. LSU fans are hoping that under coach orgeron and his new staff we can return to where LSU belongs according to the talent we always have. One thing is for sure, with LSUs recruiting base we will continue to recruit with the best. We just need to have the coaches do their job. It's going to be interesting that's for sure.

Sorry for it being so long of a post.

That All-SEC team had Jalen Hurts as its first team QB last year. Obviously that list is highly suspect, amirite?

What? Hurts led the best offense in the sec last season. He earned that spot.

If you believe that alabama has been beating LSU because they have more talent then you are kidding yourself man. Bama hasn't been beating LSU by having better players on the field, it has been LSU getting outcoached. Bama doesn't have more talent than LSU top to bottom, LSU is one of the few programs in the country that can honestly say that and have the nfl talent to prove it.
Yes and no.

Over the last decade it's been clear there are 3 teams who stand head and shoulders above the rest in pure talent on the roster. Bama, LSU and Ohio State.

Coaching has played a part, but the main difference for Bama has been the depth. Bama seems to have it everywhere.

Oh and don't sleep on Averett. He got torched his first few games, by the end of the year he was our best corner.

To be absolutely fair...

Most high schools have 3 underclassmen QBs that would start for LSU.

You're incorrectly assuming that the most talented player would start for some reason... logical, but you obviously haven't been following LSU's program for very long.

Your right about that and maybe a walkon

Yall should have a direct path the the final 4 next year, the entire SEC met this weekend, Bama was not invited. They decided as a group to all not play their games giving BAMA a gimmie win and your out of conference schedule will follow suit.

Why bother playing BAMA

BAMA should be 13-0 entering the championship series, fresh and hopefully no injuries unless yall hurt each other in practice.

There may be some stupid teams like Clemson who think they can beat BAMA that could make it to the championship series but there is no way they could beat yall

Our two true freshmen are very promising. Lowell Narcisse may even play situationally this year. He is physically ready for college ball, and he would add a mobile dimension in key situations. This could make an immediate difference for LSU, especially when you think back to how LSU repeatedly got stuffed on the goal line by Florida and Alabama last year.

Myles Brennan is *probably* the QB of the future. The kid has all the tools -- he just needs to add some weight to his frame.

Together, Brennan and Narcisse should make quite the combo. Give them a couple of years and see where they are at. Too early to judge them.

I really really think that LSU trying to have bragging rights over Bama is kind of pathetic, but you cant actually believe that right?
