re: Bama Fans: Why does Vegas have LSU favored over you?

Makes sense to me that they are favored. Two main reasons:
Game is at LSU and despite the fact that Bama has had a ton of success in Baton Rouge, it should still be considered an advantage and Vegas likely sees it that way.
LSU returns more than Bama from last year's team, including Bama breaking in a new QB. Conventional wisdom says LSU could take a step forward and Bama could take a step back.
It's a long way off but right now it's reasonable for Vegas to believe that LSU might have the advantage and think they need to set the line to have more money flow to Bama right now.

L5U fans have been reduced to bragging about betting lines in June.

do you realize the vegas line has nothing to do with who they think will win the game, its all about pushing money where they want it?
But the latter is at least somewhat influenced by the former. It at least guides the initial line to an extent (along with their analysis of the potential bettor's view of who will win which they don't know a lot about until the bets start coming in).

The law of averages suggests that at some point, LSU will win again.

For a population that thinks 5 star cuisine lives in a ditch in your front yard, you people aren't very smart.
Vegas in the business of making money - they aren't a charity organization. Now its up to you to determine which fan base Vegas believes they can bilk this Fall by favoring LSU over Alabama.

Wait until we actually close out a win to break that streak before we start these threads damnit.

Why does Vegas have Clinton favored to best Trump? Which victory do you want more?

But wouldn't that line tempt a Bama fan more than an LSU fan? If you think Bama will win, betting money now gives you points. If the line changes between now and the game to Bama being favored, then the Bama fans lose points they could have had.

I'll save that for the Fall. There'll be plenty of opportunities.

I guess Tennessee should be favored in all their big games then.

I think the SID's of the west has Bama 1 and whoville 2.

I've known a few gamblers who used this philosophy to bankrupt themselves. "Bet against a streak."
The thing is, streaks can last a long time.

Vegas knows how hard it is to beat the same team 12x in a row.

Same reason UGA was favored over Alabama last year.

Does that mean they want everyone in the country to take bama and the points and then clean up when LSU actually wins????
