Don't bring common sense here. There is no such thing as discrimination and racism and minorities are just crybabies.

Yea how dare different cultures have names different from standard white names

Traditional African names are awesome. Contrived ghetto names like Quintorris (and go down the list) are not.

American white names are European genius.

You mean Europeans should have "American" names like William, James, George, Phillip, Edward, Elizabeth, Mary, Anne, Katherine?

Are they not cool because you say so? What makes your opinion more valuable than the parents?

What constitutes a name to be ghetto? Im just curious how you can decide what names are awesome and then judge people based on them.

Freakonomics had a piece on this, segment called "What's in a name" or "A Roshanda by any other name" or something like that...

Ultimately, name your kid what you want, but understand that while there isn't a "perfect name" to name your kid to ensure they don't turn out to be a screw up, there is certainly a lot of harm that can be done by choosing certain naming conventions. The person who said this is at least as much of if not more a class issue than a race is spot on.

Those are English names. Europe consists of far more than England and its kingdom.

Let's get something straight here. "Ghetto" names are a reflection of the parent(s), not the child. Whether you like it or not, these names lead people to the assumption that this person is black and probably not from an educated family. It is what it is, and regardless of what you think, that kid's going to be disadvantaged by it.

Quintorris is a more respectable name to me then trashy-middle-class-fancy phenomena of replacing all vowels with 'y' and deliberately changing the spelling of a common name for their special snowflake child. Ashleyyn, Emyrsyn, Hayleygh, Allysyn

I think your point was a valid one. I just find it ironic that there are more than likely quite a few posters on here who like to make orangejello jokes while coming home to a son named Jaxsyn

No they are not. There are French, Spanish, Italian, and even Russian people (like Katherine the Great) with those kind of names. Now of course many of those names are pronounced differently.
