No he was not perfect. Neither was Joe Montana. Or Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Let's give the guy a chance to be a damn 19 year old sophomore.

As bad as Hurts played overall, he's a true freshman who led his team to a td on what could have been a game winning drive with 2 minutes to go in a national championship game. That is pretty impressive and you can't suck and do that

Saying a lot form a guy with a Jalen Hurts high school avatar, and Jalen Hurts Sig pic, and a #teamhurts signature

I think Bama will have both Tua and Jalen on the field at the same time.

Or he will be a bust....like 50% of all top prospects.

Let the kid log a fricking practice before you lick his nuts.

Running from SEC DE's =/= playing against little boys on the big Island

He is that good. Much better passer and can scoot. You got yourself a real good one coming. You offense will then include a legit downfield passing attack. Will be hard to defend....

yeah, he looks fantastic against that stout high school defenses

You do realize he is a highschool player....right?
That's why he was playing against highschool defenses.

He may be a good kid, but him winning SEC Offensive POY is more of a reflection of the talent and coaching around him as well as the general lack of good SEC offenses in 2016, along with Fournette being constantly injured. As for the "show-boating, dumb-arse punk" comment, if by that you mean Johnny (or Chad Kelly), Jalen has a ways to go particularly in his passing game. Those guys didn't have the luxury of the defense Bama had in 2016 to constantly bail them out.

Shea Patterson is the real deal and will steal Jalen's thunder next year.

Miss State stole a QB from Louisiana in Keytaon Thompson. Did LSU not recruit him? Or did you wait too late?

The guy is the best QB to be recruited under Dan Mullen. Is a true duel threat QB and way ahead of Dak Prescott at this stage coming off a SR highschool year.

Tua will take over as a redshirt sophomore in 2019. Roll Tide.

Hurts has a good arm. The game plan was not to throw int's. So, if a WR is not wide open throw it away or run. He did exactly that. This offseason he has to learn to read defenses AND go through his progressions while our interior OL learns to protect better. I dont think that's too much to expect.

Alabama doesn't need Hurts to be a great passer, just dangerous enough to keep defenses honest. As a freshman he should be able to do this easily next year and I expect Alabama to have the best offense in the SEC with Hurts as QB

As an LSU fan, it would be quite delicious to watch the gumps deal with a little QB drama next year. In Baton Rouge we are all to familiar with struggling young QBs and sexy recruits nipping at their heels.

Note: I say struggling only because Hurts has room to improve. He brought bama to the ship this year and is a badass QB.

With that tremendous Hawaiian talent, Tua should just be awarded the heisman right now. Jake Fromm is substantially better than some shitty Hawaiian qb hyped up by recruiting services because he's going to Alabama.

Uh.. no. He can run. Behind a huge OL. Every QB LSU has had would be better behind that line.

What was his completion percentage again? 40%? Lol.

Hawaiian high school competition didn't seem to hold back Mariotta very much
