Yep. Was ahead of the two scholly QBs we signed that year (Bateman and McLeod) plus Alec Morris. Not bad for a freshman walk-on. I think he stated in an interview at OSU that he transferred in part because he thought he had earned a scholly and wasn't offered one but I suspect it had more to do with Kiffin's arrival. Given how close the race was between Coker and Bateman, it's not crazy to think LDR would be Bama's starting QB right now if he hadn't transferred.

I believe he will easily beat out Treon next Summer/Fall.

I'm not sure who else is on your roster, but if its between those two then Del Rio will start opening day.

He might not necessarily be a better QB than Treon, but he is a better QB for Mac's system. If we finish with the WR class people are hoping, be doesn't have to be a great QB to be successful.
