only when we play against marquee opponents. Otherwise the stadium might as well be the stands at a tennis match.

I don't think any stadiums are deafening for 60 minutes when a cupcake is in town. I scream my head off on crucial plays/big games and always end up hoarse and with a headache. There's no need for a headache if my yells aren't needed. BDS can be as loud as any when needed though...I've heard from many people that '10 IB was the loudest they've ever heard a stadium.

It wasn't very loud for LSU last year outside of the first 10-15 minutes or so.

It seemed like it turned into a nervous atmosphere and got pretty quiet for most of the game

It wasn't very loud during that game, but BDS is still the loudest stadium I've been in.

Georgia's last offensive series in the 2007 Bama/Georgia game when they drove down and missed the long field goal in regulation was ridiculously loud as well. Incredibly loud and consistently loud each and every play of that final drive.

As for the Oklahoma game, the noise level during series before OU ran the fake punt was ridiculous

Which stadiums have you been to? I've been to BDS a few times including last year and Auburn and Florida both are louder. I guess I was expecting something more last year but considering how tight that game was throughout I thought it would be deafening.

We weren't very loud for Bama-LSU '11. We were too nervous.

Probably. No one is saying the 2011 game was loud.

I get very annoyed with out fans in BDS. They are not a very intense group and they will not get loud unless they absolutely have to. They act like they are to cool or above screaming their head off for a full game. I don't think they really buy in to the idea that them making noise benefits the team. I have to give props to LSU and Texas A&M. Those are great stadium atmosphere fan-bases. I wish we could have the intensity of LSU's fan base minus the lewdness. The 2008 and 2010 Ironbowls were really loud though.

You may the only person on the planet that thinks BDS is the loudest stadium.

Sorry, but I've heard it be louder than any of those games I've listed. I'm only basing it on the games I've been to.

It will have its individual moments where it is as loud as any in the country, but acoustically its not going to be Autzen Stadium or Tiger Stadium.

I was at the 2011 LSU BAMA game. It wasnt very loud because everyone was way too nervous. You could literally feel the nervous energy in the stadium. The LSU fans there werent loud or talking a lot of smack either. The fans from both teams were pretty nervous before and during the game.

Here's my theory on perceiving crowd noise. I've always come away from other stadiums (LSU, Auburn, TN) saying they were louder than BDS. I think if you are screaming your head off, it diminishes your perception of how loud it is. You don't really appreciate how loud it is until you are in the minority, listening, and everyone else is the one screaming.

Single loudest moment was in '02 against UGA when Peprah channeled his inner George Teague.
