I'd like to know why, in 2017, we still have refs assigned specifically to conferences. Why not have refs that are NCAA refs and travel as a crew to all the P5 conf games.
Have a single and clear organizational structure to easily evaluate and implement needed changes, reward good crews with prime time games, etc... why do we still have conf specific refs?

I'm afraid Bama and REC whould find a way to own them. Clemson won NC because it was a BIG 12 crew. Be careful what you wish.
