HAHA jokes on you a-hole. They all fell out from overuse of Mountain Dew and smokeless tobacco.

Has CBS always had 2 double headers in a year?
For some reason I thought they only got one double header a year. I guess they just get one primetime game a year.

they have had 2 but like this, only one day/night
what does seem to be new is having the days locked in before the season. Makes me wonder if this is part of the new contract so ESPN/SEC know exactly what days they have to work with ages in advance.

Oct 19 at noon just screams AU/A&M...eff thats gonna be hot!
Depends, usually our first real cold front doesn't hit till around Halloween time. Meaning if we get a cold front during that time it's likely will be in the 70's .
However it could be 60's in the morning and 90's + in the afternoon during that time too.... How I despise Texas weather sometime.....
I'm sure y'all are use to similar weather trends.

With the new TV deal in place CBS gets first pick in all SEC games. Up until now ESPN had the ability to pick one game a season before CBS so they could put it on primetime ESPN. With the new tv deal all games will be on TV either via CBS, ESPN family of networks, SEC network games, or PPV. All teams got ability for 1 PPV game a season. Not sure it this changed with recent announcement of dedicated SEC network channel.

PPV will be gone with the launch of the SEC Network.

Interesting...The Iron Bowl isn't necessarily the Saturday SEC game during Thanksgiving Weekend.

I will say this though:
Having the game at 3:30 eastern instead of a night game probably favors Alabama.
Night game at Kyle is almost a death sentence for the opposing team.

unless CBS also puts home SEC OOC games in their 2:30 slot the only other game that might unseat Bama/Auburn for that spot is A&M/Mizzou.
If they'll do an OCC matchup they'll have Florida/FSU and South Carolina/Clemson to choose from.
I seriously doubt they would take Kentucky/Tennessee or Vandy/Wake.
So odds are it will come down to how Auburn and Mizzou pan out this season. (again only if they won't take the OOC games and I admit I don't know if they can/will)

Reading through this thread I can only conclude that young people are pussies . Total number of night games '75-'79: 0. A&M did OK.
I'd prefer playing 'Bama at night, too, FWIW.
In any case, suck it up, dammit.

They made a trade with ESPN to use both double headers in primetime in 2011. Part of that deal was to allow ESPN to get 1st pick one week (which ESPN used on USCe-LSU last year) for 2012 only. This is not a normal part of the old contract though.

There are no longer any PPV games starting in 2014 when the SECN goes live. Nothing really to do with CBS though these are likely the normal type of games that will probably be broadcast in the CBS window.
