I bet if we run the numbers at your law school more of those are State grads too. Just image when Woodard replaces Vitter after then NCAA does their thing.

I really don't think LouAnne would want to do that or they would want to move her from the medical school. In fact, I have even heard some rumblings of taking the medical center out from under Ole Miss and make it a 9th public college or university. That would probably take both legislative and IHL action though. Probably no time soon.

I know it's hard to believe since you're a Mississippi state fan but Ole Miss actually draws a lot of out of state students. Mississippi State doesn't have that draw, but most other SEC schools do draw a good bit of out of state students

Wait, wait you believe that students leave Dallas and Atlanta and New Orleans and Nashville and elect to live in Oxford for 4 years as their first (or even second) choice?

Ole Miss has been known as a destination school for out-of-staters for longer than you've been alive. That's no secret to anyone

I got news for you, the minute those folks enrolled at UMMC they officially became Ole Miss students. It's probably good that they matriculated at the most boring college town in America before med school. Fewer distractions. Congrats on those guys for coming to the flagship. Even if late.

I got news for you. I know a shite-ton of doctors who graduated from UMMC who did their undergrads at State. Where does their money go now? Hint: not Oxford. As a matter of fact they pride themselves in being the anti-Ole Miss MD.

True. Y'all get a lot of the rich kids from north of Atlanta that can't get into Uga or Gt but can afford to pay oos tuition.

Yes I know a ton that did. I know a ton that did for the reasons you mentioned as well. Don't let facts get in the way of your assumptions though.

I'm waiting on one of you assholes to say "we really didn't care about the School of Medicine and UMMC anyways. School of Law is our real favorite."

Why would it matter to us where the students come from? That they come to Ole Miss is all that matters. No one has ever chosen MSU Med school.

Good for them. UMMC is still a part of the OM system. They were OM students and paid tuition to OM while they were in med school. This hasn't changed. As long as UMMC is under the OM umbrella the students there are going to be OM students. Nice try though.

The sad part for these students is they will have spent their entire college life in Starkville and Jackson.

That actually needs to happen as it would reflect the student makeup of the center better than what is happening now. Why wouldN't OM want to share the financial burden of running the medical center with every other school in the state?

I didn't mention any reasons. Could be many.
But I'm not going to argue.

The ridiculous part of this story is the number of OM fans who are genuinely pissed off at this lady (who proudly carries OM decals on her vehicle btw).
She's actually living a life to try and better the poor state of MS and these a-holes are upset because they somehow identify with the UM part of UMMC. It's a symptom of the reasons as to why we can't have nice things (I know, my side does it as well)

If they are in medical school they might as well be in North Korea as they will never see the sun.
