Tha frrick! Damn man I hate to see this. Kid stayed an extra year because he believed in JJ. I get you don't want bad apples but kid had a right to be pissed. I also get he didn't have numbers to put him in a good position in this years draft, but damn. Everyone else can complain about Gus and Auburn football but Duke? Meh, sucks arse to lose him.

I'm sure someone else has probably already said this but, what Gus meant to say was..."since our season is a dumpster fire, the administration has informed me that I am no longer allowed to keep a borderline criminal and total team cancer on the roster in the hopes of winning a championship".

Weren't they saying he was one of the best WR in the nation last year?
Yeah, he was last year. He's one of the most talented for sure. It's more than just a work ethic problem, his whole attitude is messed up. Its not like he's Iverson loafing in practice and showing out at games. He loafing it in games too. Of his 12 catches this season I remember one that looked like he showed effort, the rest of the time he just disappears. He had a terrible drop in the 4th qtr where he was wide open and hit in stride and it looked like he caught it but it just dropped out the bottom of his arms when he took a step, totally killed a drive and the game was in reach and he clearly DGAF. I don't know what happened with him because last season he gave 110% and seemed to really enjoy himself, now he acts like he hates life. He got in trouble this summer for allegedly getting into a fight with a basketball player and the rumor is he got into another fight Saturday night after the game. That kind of attitude is a cancer in the locker room, and is especially infectious coming from an upper class men who's supposed to be a star player.
ETA: and why the hell is this stickied?

No he didn't. He stayed because he did not get the draft grade he wanted last year and hoped to improve it. Dude was 3rd round at best. He is a possession receiver, those do not usually go above round 3.

I'd have more respect if he'd done this earlier.

No big deal he'll probably just end up at Auburn. Oh wait NM lol

So LSU has the 4 year cycle and Auburn has the suck arse season cycle?
Damn, some SEC teams have more cycles than my ex-wife!

I get that Duke hasn't done much this season (but who at Auburn has, really?) but I'm not getting why Auburn fans are pissing on him now. Weren't they saying he was one of the best WR in the nation last year? Poor work ethic can be fixed. Great WRs are hard to replace.
Because he's a bitch who goes into downtown bars starting fights with people and tells coaches to suck his D.

The team just got better.
Duke has made about 5 catches this year. He was taking up space someone else could actually produce in.

Who was the last highly talented player with such a shitty attitude? Ryan Perriloux?

Serious. Guess you haven't been paying attention.

Is the Under Armor deal still good?

I saw this thread this morning and thought, good.
Note the thread on the AU board before Duke was dismissed. 22 posts, all 22 were against Duke. I would say it is about unanimous with AU fans that this is a positive for the team right now.

I hate to see such talent and promise wasted. But from everything I've heard, the guy was a cancer in the locker room. I've paid attention to him all season and if you watch him you can tell he half asses most of the time. I hope wherever he ends up, he can turn his attitude around and realize his potential.

We are 5 games into the season. Dude has been targeted as much as any receiver. His biggest play this year is 19 yards. He appears to be half-assing it on his routes. Frankly, we are likely a better team if Jason Smith gets his reps instead.
Then add in all the rumors about him being bad in the locker room too and I think it's pretty obvious the team just got better. In several ways.

It's a serious position. When you have a WR that usually doesn't run block or finish routes, it's a detriment, especially when he was allowed to stay on the field and remain a starter.

what is going to happen to the guy he supposedly fought?

Gus wouldn't have him out there if he had someone better to put in his place.

So he was NOT better than Pharoh Cooper
and
where does one transfer to after being dismissed from Auburn?
