you can only really guage how good programs are in comparison to one another if they play every year or almost every year.
Clemson gone 2-3 against Auburn last 35 years and that didn't include any games in the 80's, Clemson best decade. 2 of Auburn's wins were 3 point overtime wins, the other was 4 point win.
most of Auburn's win came in 1910s, and 1950s.

That actually works in my favor as well. The SEC alone is 73-49 against them the last 20 years, 26-17 the last ten. The ACC doesn't have a winning record against a Power 5 conference over the last 20 years.
I know it works well (though the numbers you gave don't make the point either, neither were they accurate). I'm just pointing out you can't compare conferences to themselves and say it reflects how they do against other conferences.
