I like Auburn as a university alright but for some reason they talk a lot of trash about Clemson, more than most SEC fans outside of SC.

Auburn is (34-13-2) against Clemson.

Average score: Auburn 19.8 - Clemson 9.8

Per decade
W L T PFPG PAPG
2010's 1 2 0 23.3 29.3
2000's 1 0 0 23.0 20.0
1990's 1 0 0 21.0 17.0
1980's 0 0 0 0 0
1970's 2 0 0 39.5 6.5
1960's 5 0 0 31.2 11.8
1950's 4 2 0 16.0 16.7
1940's 3 3 1 21.0 15.6
1930's 0 0 0 0 0
1920's 5 3 1 17.4 4.6
1910's 9 0 0 18.7 0.7
1900's 2 3 0 4.2 5.6
1890's 1 0 0 34.0 0.0

So 9 out of their 34 wins were in 1910's when Clemson was around 1000 students. Another 7 were in 1960s and 1970s when Clemson was around 5000 students, about half the size of College of Charleston today, and the point spread in these games is typical of a big university playing a small university today.

These 3 decades account for nearly half their wins against Clemson, 16 total. If we disregard these decades, Auburn is 18-13-2 against Clemson.

They did not play against Clemson in 1980's which was Clemson best decade which included 1 national title in 1981. 1990s was not as good but some decent seasons in there and the teams only played once with Auburn winning.

This decade Clemson has been 2-1 and the Cam Newton team only beat Clemson by 3 in overtime. Clemson actually lead 17-0 in game until a sack messed up our QB's brain basically for rest of season. I believe Clemson was the most competitive team against AUburn that year and Cam Newton was nearly unstoppable in college.

So the last 3 decades Auburn is only 3-2 against Clemson with two overtime wins, and their other win was by 4 in a bowl game.

BOth schools have one national title. I believe Clemson has a lot more conference titles, Auburn has more bowl trips and wins.

You've spent enough time on this board to realize you wouldn't get any serious answers and every response would be a flame.

This isn't high school Jamie. Enrollment numbers don't mean a thing.

Also, the USCe poster said it best in the other thread, You should be a good guest and behave yourself or we'll send you back to Clemson via their 1990's message board

not one of you can counter what I said. you can have a civil debate and if you don't care about Clemson don't bother to post a response. nobody is forcing you to care.

I don't care about Auburn, would prefer not to play Auburn ever again actually. You brag too much but only 1 national title, same as Clemson.

you don't care about Clemson

that is why you take the time to post hostile responses. if you didn't care you wouldn't even look at the thread because my title clearly described the subject matter.

Please stop talking to me.

Or is Clemson same as Auburn? Your main building, school colors, mascot, and football program all came from us.

quote:

A year later, Walter Riggs left the Auburn program in the hands of Heisman and headed off to Clemson, South Carolina to start up a football program there.

Clemson had no mascot, no school colors, nothing. So Riggs just took off with what he knew from Auburn, branding them the Clemson Tigers.

In fact, he was low on money—probably used it on Heisman’s salary—so when he left the Plains, he brought some of Auburn’s old practice uniforms with him, which happened to have orange and navy jerseys.

Because the jerseys had gone through a few washboard scrubbings, they were quite faded—the navy worse than the orange. So Riggs made the school’s predominant color orange and the faded condition of the navy became the purplish color, officially known today as Regalia.
