Well, at least you tell the truth on some things

Nothing beat the "Hushpuppy Dinner" that the redfish guy put on a couple years ago about the Cam deal.

I would hope that any Bama fan in this thread is just taking a good natured jab at our AU brethren. Surely no one looks to Danny Sheridan as a source of " news" anymore.

Hell, the "news" about 2 AU staff off the road has been out there for weeks.

No. You've got a long way to go yet.

You're at the Mike Dubose step of the Alabama Millennium coaching game. I will say that so far you're playing the game much better. Dubose only won the SEC right before getting fired the very next year. Y'all got the crystal football. The Dubose step is only step 1.

Step 2 should be to hire a decent enough coach with no loyalty who will win a few games but bolt right before the NCAA hammer drops. Again, it looks like y'all are simply playing the game better because you're going right to:

Step 3. At this step, you hire a coach known for gaudy offensive numbers but questionable defense. Unfortunately, he's going to have a problem with the ladies. Again, you're ahead of Bama. Not only does Bobby Petrino have a better record than Mike Price, he picks much prettier women.

Step 4 is the Shula step. At this point, you're so beaten down you resort to hiring a beloved former player because you're out of options. Once again, you learned from our mistakes. At least Patrick Nix has coached at the college level.

Once you finish the Shula step, if you're lucky you can finally move forward. By that time, Saban will have retired so you've got a real shot at being competitive on a regular basis.

You've never lived in Alabama have you? On June first any mention of football will start a six day verbal war.

I'll be willing to bet that a good bit of Finebaum Nation does.

FWIW, this blog does not deal in rumors

Yet the writer gives 5 things from "a friend" that spoke to Sheridan off the record.

He said there is a high likelihood that Auburn University “cleans house,” meaning that everyone associated with Auburn football—from the athletic director all the way to “special advisers” to the program—will be dismissed.

Danny will go 1 for 5 with his comments (getting a bloop single with this one), just at the Mendoza Line.

Seriously, the thought that a bunch of Alabama people would pay Danny Sheridan to tell them that Auburn is going down in the midst of one of the most dominating seasons in CFB history is ridiculous.

Wouldn't you guys rather beat us by 40+ this season instead of watching us go down? Where would your fun go?

"They aren't just offering up info to get out of it though. Far better to be a new coach for a shitty team without sanctions than a shitty team with sanctions. It would change your coaching targets a good deal, I would think. "

Bullseye! That would be penny-wise and pound-foolish. Blow up an entire athletic department worth hundreds of millions of dollars to save $7.5? Not to mention the next coach is going to cost more than normal should AU be on probation. Unless, that is, AU would be willing to settle for a Dooley level type coach.

Sheridan's NCAA contacts tell him that a Letter of Inquiry and formal investigation are imminent.
