Under Armour lets us do what we want. Maybe you should become an Under Armour school.

If Russell didn't move their manufacturing HQ from Alex City to wherever it ended up, Auburn would still be a Russell school.

Atlanta...I'm prolly wrong, but from what I remember we wanted sign a new contract with Russell. From there I want to say AU had to get the contract signed very quickly, but Russell never got in touch with us so were forced to look for other options.

They moved headquarters to Bowling Green, KY, but they moved manufacturing overseas and to Mexico. That cost a lot of local people their jobs. And didn't sit well with people. And when Auburn went with UA, Russell more or less ceased to exist in Alexander City.

I'm perfectly fine with Under Armour. I like their garments.

Plus I hate Nike.

You like the size 8 font they use for the names on the jerseys? That is my only beef with UA.

And the gay new stripes and tramp stamp...

Take all that shite away and they were perfect.

UA and AU should go back to Russell. I liked the old football jersey's better.

Tramp stamp I have a problem with. The rest of the stuff I like/understand why it was done.

I'm surprised that UA got that business away from Russell, just bc they're headquarters are in their backyard.

false.... berkshire hathaway (buffett) purchased Russell Corp around 2006 and moved the corporate HQ from ATL back to Alexander City... they've slowly started to integrate Russell with Fruit of the Loom, but I believe HQs are still in Alex City.

my dad worked for russell for 30+ years... most everyone I knew had immediate family members that worked for russell... tons of people who graduated from AU, had season tix to AU, sent their kids to AU, etc....

It would've been nice to see a little loyalty, but it came down to money... is what it is.

Auburn has had those awful uniforms for several years now. I thought south Carolina had a similar one like that recently.
