Justa passing along of info from a respected sports site.

He's not a respected journalist though.

Bama was very good this year - one of the best.

But Saban chest bumped too early and fizzled out by only winning 20-7 against State and getting run over by Auburn. It happens.

Stretch. Remind me to let these arguments go about three pages earlier next time. Good luck in the championship.

no that would be your statement about bama being the better team. Again Total yards is what you said is the better judge, now you are trying to discredit yourself.

Total is a pretty definitive statement

Not sure what he's referring to

Total is total

So what you're saying is Auburn only needed 393 yards to beat Bama, and Bama needed 495 yards to have a chance to beat Auburn?

I would say Auburn is the better team then.

Meh....didn't read this whole stupid thread....Bama may indeed be better but they weren't the better team on that particular day.

AU did what they needed to do to win and Bama didn't and that is the bottom line. AU deserves their shot at the title. I can't bring myself to pull for Auburn in the game but I won't begrudge them for their success this year. They earned it on the field and this crap about luck is just b.s. Good teams make their own luck.

I am using the same category definition that virtually every sports journalist in the English speaking world uses. Total yards is yards from scrimmage.

At this point, you are being childish to try to win a technicality. If you need to resort to an alternative definition of a sports standard, then it's time to let you claim victory and move on.

From a team with a thieving cb at qb and an arena league offense I would say best NCAA14 players as far as team meh especially the receiving corp excluding Coates (future 1st rounder),secondary, and lbs

no you are using total offensive yards, like I said now you are trying to discredit your previous statement.

no, you are being obtuse and are still trying to claim the moral victory of bama being the better team. I am simply using your criteria.

alternative definition

you do know what the term "total" refers to?
quote:

claim victory

its no "claim" its a fact, again you are the one claiming the moral victory of being the better team. Sorry the almighty Bama is not the greatest team in the country this year, its probably time to move on.

This happens often in cfb. The best team doesn't always win, and teams you think are the best aren't the best in that game

I mean MSU should never have lost to ND (they got hosed by officials), and therefore, would be in over both Auburn and Bama

That rushed for 296 yards right down the throats of that elite Bama D. Gotcha.

Auburn had the better conditioning and were in control of the game late. Why do you think Nick fought for the 1 second and went for the low percentage FG? He knew Auburn would win the OT. DWI son.

the only reason the house kittens were even in the game was because of the missed call on the illegal forward pass.
