I wonder if we can sue to prevent Auburn from claiming the 1958 title?

I bet you could get a judge to at least entertain the notion of taking it to trial.

You don't want to frick with our lawyers. Lightfoot, Franklin & White would have Les help hang our new banners in JHS.

Good troll or really dumb poster.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say good troll. But that doesn't mean you can't be really stupid too.

The proper way to claim a previous year's title involves these conditions:

1. Your team cannot be on probation in the year in question.

2. You must have fewer losses than the other teams in the year you are claiming that title.

3. You must have fewer TIES in the event that you have the same number of losses as other teams claiming the title.

4. There can't be a unanimous national champion that year.

5. YOU CAN'T LOSE YOUR BOWL GAME AND STILL CLAIM THE TITLE.

Following those 4 metrics, A&M can claim the 1919 and 1927 titles, but not the 1917 title (rule 4).

USC needs to frick right off in trying to claim our 1939 title. (3 ties < 0 losses or ties)

Alabama probably needs to relinquish their claim to at least one of their titles as well, as does Texas with their 1969 "title".

The '58 MNC now belongs to AU...deal with it.
According to that link, Alabama can claim a few more.

1961 - AP and the Montgomery Full Season Champs
1962 - New one
1964 - AP and now the Montgomery Full Season Champs (Deal with it Arkansas)
1979 - AP and the Montgomery Full Season Champs
1980 - New one
