My understanding is Auburn's policy says no suspension for a first failed DT, but this was an arrest.
He was cited, but not arrested. To the extent that matters.

really? i thought Gus was supposed to be a disciplinarian.
Does that mean a suspension is required for a relatively minor violation?

if you're not gonna draw the line at being busted by the cops with weed, where are you gonna draw the line?

4th most loseable game? Really? You do know that you're not playing the Cleveland Browns, right?

Maybe, but why do you intentionally use the wrong nomenclature?

What line? Taking away playing time. It is a case by case basis because every player and every situation is different. I would take away playing time when I was convinced it was the best way to teach the player the necessary lesson. Can't a coach effectively discipline a player for a minor possession charge without taking away game time? I don't really care if he is suspended or not, but if it were me and I think the player could be corrected without the suspension, then I probably wouldn't suspend for that type of offense.

not if he wants people to believe he is some sort of big time disciplinarian. it's not a big deal. it's just i had thought Gus had a reputation for not putting up with crap like that.

I'm not sure if Gus cares what outsiders believe or if he is interested in being viewed as a big time disciplinarian. I wouldn't be if I were him. I would worry only about the player and the team and how they responded to the discipline he thought fit each situation.

In the west they are, as you say all "lose-able".

Is lose-able even a word?

I know some of us don't recognize that the world is changing, but being "busted" with the amount of weed he possessed is a kin to speeding. It is illegal, but they don't haul you downtown and lock you up because of it. He wasn't under the influence. He merely had it in his possession. This is the reason it is a citation and not an arrest. Even law enforcement understands the relative silly nature of this, but hey if we want to keep beating our chest acting like holding a few grams of weed is as bad for society as a DUI, federal drug trafficking charges, etc… Go ahead. This is the rant.

Not sure. I typed loseable, but chrome tells me to spell it with a hyphen or a space.

I would say 8 for LSU. All SEC games, except UK, plus Wisconsin.
Bama and Auburn the toughest, with the next group being Ole Miss, A&M, and Wisconsin. IMO

Other than our horrible OOC schedule I think they're all loseable. I include Arkansas mostly because of the game moving back to JerryWorld, where (as Ark. fans are fond of pointing out) the pigs have owned us.

Likely losses:
USC, Bama, Auburn with the horsecollar for the win, LSU

Tossups:
Dak, Bo, Mizzou

A loss wouldn't completely shock me:
Arkansas

...but if Arkansas wins, I sure as hell hope they go 2-6 or better in the conference. Because being their only win would really, really suck.

I don't really think much of that is going to happen, though. I'll be happy with 8-4, and I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation.

Last year was a mess for Florida but your season and ours last year is the reason I love college football. Preseason hype is nothing but preseason hope. Anything can happen.

I mean; who saw the crazy bitch elbow diving in the Sugar Bowl at this time last year. Sure it could have been reasonably predicted given the fan base but who knew for sure? College football is great.

@Auburn
Bama
@aTm
@FLA
OM
Wiconsin
@Arkansas
MSU
UK

LSU has laid some world class turds in Thanksgiving week games, and now we get a thanksgiving night game and Kyle will be JACKED to have that game back.

Arkansas the week after Bama is not the best time to catch a team like that. LSU could be coming off of home wins against OM and Bama in consecutive weeks and be a little full of themselves, or they could lose those games and the season is over. It's a dangerous spot.

@Auburn over Bama at home because of venue and timing. Easily the toughest two games on the schedule. LSU's first true road game for a brand new offense and QB? I remember what the noise did to Mett and Co. against a terrible Auburn team and it is a big time worry.
