It seemed to me he was stating that CU is already being overshadowed by someone else in their own conference (FSU) because they are playing Bama. Bama losing would only make that overshadowing worse in that scenario.

ok, I know that I'm not planning on watching the FSU-Bama game. I can't see too many people who aren't Bama or FSU fans dying to watch that.

Not sure how that game can overshadow a team not playing in that game. That game has nothing to do with CU or what happened last season. What happened last season is forever.

Plus CU is playing a big game against Auburn the 2nd weekend.

A potential #1 vs #2 matchup in week one... it will break viewership records in some areas. Tickets are already more expensive than most bowl games. Not saying I agree with his "overshadowed" comment, fwiw.

it will be watched by some casual football fans simply b/c it is in primetime and nothing else on, no doubt.
