Bama won the West in 2008, went undefeated in the regular season, and finished 12-2, with the only two losses coming against the teams that finished #1 & #2 in the final poll. You'll notice on the side of those gay arse Sugar Bowl rings of Bama's one of the sides says "SEC West Champions."

Giving rings for anything other than winning the conference or the national championship is utterly ridiculous.

I would say rings only for winning a Natty but I might go so far as rings for winning a primo bowl like Sugar or Orange. As for regular season conference winners or CCG winners getting to play for a Natty should be reward enough but I guess such wins could be used as tie breakers when ranking SEC schools. Vanderbilt has around a dozen conference championships but that and a buck may get you a cup of coffee at a local diner.

I respected UK when they only hung NCAA Championship banners. Then they went to Runner Up's and now they have gone to Final Fours. Ricky Bobby may have poorly phrased his comment and it should be "If you are not first, you might as well be last"

I responded directly to someone who brought up the 2008 Bama campaign with a response about the 2008 Bama campign. That is not a deflection, sir.

It seems like a participation trophy to me. If the bowl gives them out I guess you can't refuse them.

Did you play? I never would've known about ours if lil bro hadn't reported it here.

That's pathetic. Only conference champions and the national champion should get rings. I'd be embarrassed to wear that.

I doubt a soul on your team actually wears those big arse things. It's just more of a token to show you participated in a Sugar Bowl.

Uh.....yeah. We played Auburn.....in the Sugar Bowl.

The rings the Auburn fans posted on here from Bama's Sugar Bowl aren't real team rings. They're from a fan memorabilia site that sells them for $185.00. Obviously not the same ring, and made for fans.

I mean, that's cute and all. Congrats. Do you think the people here perceive Clemson as some kind of big deal?

Think about it, they just won the national championship and they've already been overshowed by FSU playing us in September. Let them have their 15 min of fame before they fall beck to irrelevance.

This makes no sense. Overshadowed because Bama is playing FSU?

Clemson plays FSU every season.

OU's Sugar Bowl win is reflected on the Big XII championship ring.

Under Stoops, only time a separate ring for a bowl was given was the Rose Bowl.
