The Defense was mostly a dumpster fire the year he was there until after Carl Lawson got back from his injury, BUT I'll give you 5 names we can pretty much attribute to CWM

Jeff Holland
Carlton Davis
Javaris Davis
Jamel Dean
Jeremiah Dinson

All Florida kids playing great on the defense this season.

Thanks Boom.

Our defense hasn't been that bad. No pass rush, but it's clear that our struggles are clear on the other side of the ball.

You have a good defense. 24 to atm at their house? That's not bad

People do not realize how bad of a coach Ellis Johnson was. He was good against old school Offense, but couldn't figure out how to defend any Spread Offenses. Muschamp had to totally rebuild that Defense, and did a pretty good job that first year. I still think EJ cost AU two chances at a NC.

When we beat USCe in 2010, he pretty much said he didn't know how to stop Malzahn's offense...which is why I really didn't understand the hire in the first place.

Would be nice if those boys would have stuck with UF and not followed that failure Muschamp. Congrats on having some good defensive players.

I think Pat Dye convinced him he was an experienced SEC DC.

Add in Nick Coe who looks great as a RsFr. Coe was targeted specifically by Muschamp as a 3* player

I don't know anyone who's ever said Boom can't coach defense.

None of the list above were flipped from "UF" quite a few of them didn't even have UF offers or weren't recruited by McElwain's staff

Pat Dye is the gd boogie man to AU millenials like he was to gumps in the 80s. couldnt have been gus is weird and not many DCs wanted to work for him. had to have been a Pat Dye conspiracy

Boom is incredible as a talent evaluator and he develops his talent well. His defensive schemes have aged well and he isn't afraid to make changes every few years. My issue with Will is not even QB play because he has actually signed good QBs pretty much every year, but the inability to run the football. I really do think he is close to becoming a good HC.
