Not here to flame in any way, but it would seem to me that this would be the biggest concern AU would have this year. Just to hear the comments of some of the defensive players talking about really learning about football under VG, kind of made me think about how bad Roof really was. Then you have a new coach coming in teaching a complex system with a lot of learning going on. Just comparing how long it takes the guys to learn Saban's defense with the guys learning VG's defensive scheme's it seems there will be a lot of growing pains for this defense. But be patient, once they get it under their belt, with the talent y'all have on that side of the ball, your D will be one to be reckoned with. IMO, that is.

Can't argue with any of that. Which is shame given how even numbered years give us the best schedule. We'll probably have to wait until the 2014 season before we can compete for the West again.
