Back in '03, which team impressed you more after seeing them in action against your team, USC or LSU?

Didn't Auburn get shut-out at home? That's pretty impressive..

USC coming to Auburn and shutting AU out. Pretty impressive.

Back then, I definitely thought USC was better. I wasn't really partial to either team.

usc shut them out while completely healthy. LSU was on its 3rd and 4th string running backs and we rolled over them.

both are pretty impressive

Agreed. I can't believe OU stayed number 1 in the BCS after getting curbstomped by a team that finished with like 5 losses.

I always thought USC was the better team.

LSU was damn good though.

I seem to remember USC not impressing me at all that year when they played us. We had 3 or 4 turnovers inside our on redzone and that was how they scored on us and we still only lost by about 3 touchdowns.

Our offense was pretty bad and it turns out our whole team played really poorly all year. I would give the edge to LSU.

That was Leinart's first game....and Bush's coming out party.....and the Michael Williams show. They ran stunts all day on D and we couldn't find any daylight. They were good....and we were not.

LSU, had we had the offense from 2002 we were 14 points better than USC. They scored on very short fields. when they were given long fields to score on they scored on less than 15% of their possessions which means their offense was not that good. LSU dominated that game and we had a ton of talent that year, that is why I still say to this day we would have won the 2004 game as Campbell was a far better QB than leinhart.

I say LSU. Rohan and Reed lit us up that day and we got shut down on offense. We couldn't do anything offensively against USC either but they really couldn't move the ball on us and other than a long Reggie Bush TD run all their scores were a result of AU turnovers and short fields for USC. It is also worth mentioning that the next week after USC our offense only scored 3 on GT. We struggled badly going from Petrino calling plays to Nallsminger but by the time we played LSU they at least were scoring a few points.

Didn't Auburn have really high expectations and then failed to score a touchdown until the third game?

Of course you beat Tennessee.

LSU... but only b/c it was USC's first game. SC's offense wasn't great in that 03 game... it was Leinart's first start, however. we turned the ball over and played terrible offensively.

I felt like our defense actually played pretty well against SC.

He wasn't back then.....

I think USC was the best team we played. Their D line could not be stopped.

My recollection is that Auburn was a lot better after they made the OC change. Tech held Auburn to 3 points and gave up 37 to Clemson the next week.

USC. I was not expecting LSU to beat OU in the Sugar Bowl either.
