I am an Auburn fan. I am not in favor of firing Gus. I have always believed his offense struggles without a running QB. Maybe the idiot in here that suggested the rest of the league has figured out how to stop Gus' O is right. Convince Gus he has his QB so he won't recruit another one. Strong plan!

There is no figuring out his offense when he has the right pieces. We just dont have them right now. Everyone had it figured out in 2013 but still could not stop it. No real tricks to it.

We will certainly go through a rough couple of years but that is what we do. On the other side, we will see how we rebound. Gus should and will stay for now. We need some coaching stability.

Just curious, but what pieces are you missing? We all know about the qb position but is their anything else?

The QB is the issue. When he can run it changes the blocking angles for the oline and the other backs free up then the deep ball is available because teams must commit a safety or two to stop the run.

Offensively the oline isn't what we hoped so they also need the help the running QB provides.

Defensively we need several pieces, but Champ is at least shaking things up we didn't see that the last several seasons.

Thanks HB, I look for your posts to level set my own thoughts of what is going on over there. Good to know and good luck the rest of the way.

I hope that you don't think the opinion of an entire fan base is derived through reading the anonymous comments of the message board posters.

Which is why the thread title is very specific in saying "Auburn Fans on the Auburn Board".

Come on, bro...don't be a fool.

Yeah QB on Cocaine, lost to Kentucky, best receiver in program history kicked off for dope, had openly gay player, coach got DUI, I would fire the head coach too.

Hmmm one thing in this list isn't like the other?

Wasn't LSU 0-2 in conference this time last year?

Seems way premature to assume Gus can't salvage something from this season.

True, but you already lost to, what seems to be, the 6th or 7th best team in the west. The month of November is not going to be nice, at all. Ole Miss, Aggie, Georgia and Bama. Do you honestly see a win with any of these team? Not saying that it can't, but right now things don't look good.

I like how being gay is now supposedly on par with criminal activity.

Aubie has this cycle that I've never seen before. Its almost like clockwork.

average team
bad team
national championship team
repeat

Even going back to Terry Bowdens days. He took a 5-5-1 team and it didnt take 4 years or something, he went 11-0 the NEXT season.

Tommy Tuberville- Wins the west in his SECOND season

Gene Chizik- National championship in his SECOND season

Gus Malzahn- play for title in his FIRST season

How do they do this? Furthermore, how do they drop off the table the next year? Jekyl and Hyde program if there has ever been one.

Out "Auburning" Auburn for years now. Definite loss I agree

doesn't make any sense because Clemson has won 25 in a row against unranked teams, longest streak in the nation against unranked teams, and has won more games the past 5 years than Auburn who has had 1 losing season and another one appears to be this year.

if you define Clemsoning as losing to a stacked FSU team or SC teams with top NFL players on defense, yes, Clemson choked. lol
