Auburn didn't win with complete dignity.

I am an SEC snob so I was pulling for Auburn last night. Glad they won.

Of course when the two personal foul penalties were called I was quickly reminded of how I associate dirty football players with Auburn more than any other school. In the end Nick Fairley may be the dirtest one of the them all (nice shove to the helmet of a downed player Nick.)

Even though most of the country knows the SEC has the best football teams year in and year out, we do suffer from some image problems. Auburn just added a little more fire to that last night.

And it was funny how the announcers just said he plays dirty and played dirty all year as a fact. Wonder how that will translate to the NFL?

Well Eric Smith was just caught up and was trying to get his leg loose. Not his fault that it was caught in the facemask of that Duck player. And Fairley was just getting up and used The Michael James's head as leverage. And The Michael, much like Manu Ginboli, bobbed his head to make it look worse than it was. Besides, these things happen when Phil Knight pays off refs....

As an Auburn fan, both plays were ugly. Both players got flagged (right call) and it could have potentially affected the game.

Overall Fairley didn't act like a rabid out of control psycho. You could tell he was fighting it and it bubbled to the surface that one time. He's gonna have problems after college football. A great player no doubt but an A1 head case as well.

I watched the game with 4 unbiased neighbors. 2 of which knew nothing about the game of football. The first thing we noticed was Scam's visible arrogance (before kickoff) and his seperation from the team. Next was the cheap shots. I see player arrests in the off-season for this U like team. Congrats barn...if you can't win one with class, then let's look as criminal as possible when winning.

Hopefully, it won't cause another Kyle Turley incident. But Turley was in the right:

I agree - looked as if the guy was pretty much under control last night - and he STILL looked like a beast.

Dignity or not - in the end we got the job done. both were flag worth offenses, and eric should have been ejected for kicking the player. its a refs call. and they hit him with a 15 yarder.

everyone can down us, but we are the BCSNC - so for those that wished us grats ty - for those that want to poke holes in it, you seriously need to relax and let shite go.

Yeah, big deal Chizick and Taylor holler at the players after the foul and since they are on TV.
Players just don't start playing like this in a big game, they have been taught to do so and have done it all year. The one player that kicked the Duck in the face should have been ejected from the game, and Chizick was not mad because of the play, he was mad that they got caught. Getting caught is not something that thay are used to having. Why get in a player's face when he does something that he has been doing all year? There are ways to prevent your players from playing dirty, bench their arse.

I believe football is just like basketball. You have to play with intensity and intimidate at times. It is up to the officials to keep the game in check. The SEC officials let the Auburn DT get away with it all season. The officials last night called him on his actions, this should have happened all season.
