Moseley isn't 3rd string. He's been second all year, with Frazier at 3rd to adjust to the speed and completely learn the playbook.

Been really impressed with how the run defense has come along.

you played two teams without an offense. good god. Some people will just look for anything to grasp to. Your D is shite...you will get dominated this weekend, against Bama, and likely against Georgia...you should do well against ole miss though.

How do you feel about the improvements being made? Is this something to get excited about or are we chalking this up to inept offenses we have faced in the last few weeks other than Arky? They put up decent numbers, but we did hold them to their 2nd lowest total this year.

Game 1 Utah State 448
Game 2 Miss State 531
Game 3 Clemson 624
Game 4 FAU 307
Game 5 USC 289
Game 6 Arky 438
Game 7 Florida 198

Combination of many things as to the improvement iyam.
Game experience, better scheming, and some inept offenses. Mostly improved play on the D side if I had to pick which affected the stats the most.

That's not how LSU will beat you. LSU will beat you by taking advantage of your mistakes. Let's face it, you have no real QB threat. Trotter throws up balls for grabs a lot and LSU's secondary will take advantage of that. The LSU offense is powered by the defense giving them turnovers. They also have amazing special teams play.

They don't need to "run at will" if they consistently start on your side of the football field.

what many of you are really missing is that JL will beat your arse throwing the ball if you stack the box. Whether you want to admit it or not...he is top 20 in the nation in passing efficiency, and has 11td's/1 int. He may not throw but 15 times in the game, but will complete 10 of those for a td or two, and will have 150-160 yards passing, to go along with a couple hundred on the ground. People think LSU's offense is not good because they don't pile up 500 yards a game. They consume the football, keeping it away from the opponent, and that is why they lead the league in TOP. They quite simply wear you down, and then the defenses comes in and tees off. It's the same every week.....you guys underestimating lee gonna be in for it.....should have had (2) 4 td games this year already.

I specifically said "run" defense...which has gotten significantly better.

Utah State - 227 yards
Mississippi State - 333 yards
Clemson - 238 yards
Florida Atlantic - 108 yards
South Carolina - 129 yards
Arkansas - 176 yards
Florida - 66 yards

I agree with this. AU struggles against teams that use the short passing game. We play a lot of zone with the intent of allowing the 3 yard completion and making the tackle. The only problem is we miss too many tackles turning those 3 yards into 10 or 15.

inept offenses. Arky didn't have a problem putting up points and yardage. florida has no offense without brantley...period...USC hasn't had much of an offense all year against just a decent opponent (not named kentucky)

The D actually played decent that game. A bs 92 yard run on top of our offense putting the D in bad spots made the total numbers look worse than the D actually played.

The D isn't great, but they have improved tremendously. They were giving up more against worse teams/offenses prior to the USC game.

Very similar to last year. The run D started to play well about 5 games in. The pass D never really picked it up a whole lot.

Its better than it was overall. Its no record breaking defense by any means but they are getting better.

Absolutely. They just seem to be in the right positions a lot more frequently than the first few games in. Unfortunately, as much as the defense has progressed, the offense has taken even more steps back.

True. But for Auburn this year, holding Arkansas below their average offensive numbers is a good sign of improvement, especially after all the INTs we gave them.

No one is saying AU's defense is good yet, just that its going from terrible to average.

Yeah, but it looked like it through the first 4 games.

You could also have picked a good looking girl for your sig instead of that butter face. But you didn't.

Are you for real? Did you watch the same game I did? There was no reason at all to continue to press in the second half, on our first snap of the half we went for 92 yards and completed the neutering of your whole team. Look at our play calling from the first to the second half. I'm not saying we sent the second teamers out, but we stopped pressing for points big time.

Our first four plays in the second half were all running attempts.

Nice holding.

Really impressive with the TEs ability to grasp the jersey and not let go.

I saw a stat earlier today that our total defense is now ranked higher than our total offense. Still nothing to brag about since we are talking being ranked in the high 70's low 80's nationally.
