Why not? He is a very good coach and if he stays at Auburn and keeps his nose clean I think he would be an attractive candidate.

I think it would have to be a blue blood and those programs aren't touching him

Bama recruited far better than Auburn until Bruce arrived, not to mention your guys have far more experience playing together. Auburn basically has an entirely new team this year trying to gel early on.

Impressive win against ND. None of your other wins were against anyone of note, unless you count a mediocre WSU without their best player. The other 2 good teams Bama played beat them down.

We are marking progress, but we are still another year from the NCAA tournament in my mind. We still have so much roster overhaul being done. Of our starting 5 right now, only one played last year, one was a transfer and had to sit out, and the other 3 are new. It's still an adjustment, but the talent level is way up. They have to learn to mesh as a team and they'll be fine. Our best freshman still hasn't been cleared by the NCAA and our senior leader is out with an injury. My guess is we finish around 5th-9th on the conference and make the NIT with about 19-21 wins.

Off to about the start I was expecting, especially without Purifoy. Still need a good big though. We have a stud at PG with Canty and Tyler Harris has been very good as a fifth year transfer. It all depends on if Purifoy gets cleared as to how high our ceiling is. I couldn't be happier with the progress Pearl has made.

Not really. We're having to rely on a lot of new guys.

Auburn is heading in the right direction with Pearl we'll know more about the team soon.

As for Bama: if you want to poo poo 5 straights wins with 4 of those away from home... I mean, we ain't Kentucky or Duke so when Alabama does that it's a big deal

We have better talent this year, but lots of freshman and a couple of transfers. Typical results when the whole team is new/young: flashes of brilliance, poor defense, don't always play together on offense. Have had key players out injured in nearly every game. Our 5* player hasn't played pending a ruling on grades. Might have to redshirt him this year. Right now we aren't playing well enough to make the NIT but unlike last year we aren't going to reach our peak in Dec.

Y'all have some new faces but have 3 guys that are getting meaningful playing time that played last year and one of them is limited to about 10 mins a game since his shoulder is held together with silly string. The fact of the matter is both teams are showing noticeable signs of improvement and appear to have promising futures. It's pointless this early in the season and their tenures to try and measure who is done better than who.

AU had double digit leads in their two losses, so they're very prone to coming out hot then going cold.

Agree 100% - Y'all are happy with Bruce - we are happy with Avery.
