I think that is an amazing idea. I have thought about trying to go to a Bama game and then ride to starkville for a the nightcap if that ever lines up right. But how often does Bama play at noon and then state play at night on the same Saturday? not very often. And if they do, it's cuz bama is playing a shitty team, so this will never happen.

Last year I did Ga Tech/NC State and AU/USCe on the same day.
Advice...make sure you are at the portal of the exit on the last play fo teh game. Dont still be in your seat or you add at elast an hour trying to get to the next game.

I've never heard of anybody going to 2 games in one day.
Good luck! Should be fun!

How far of a drive is it from Clemson to Columbia?
I've heard Clemson is a clusterfrick to get out of. If the game isn't over until 3:30, you're gonna have to hightail it to get to Columbia. May need to leave the Clemson game about the 3rd quarter.

i've done it a few times before... back before they added the Southern Connector that can get you from I-85 to I-385 w/o going through Mauldin, so it's all interstate.
when SC and Clemson both have home games, the SC Highway Patrol is very lax on speeding because so many troopers are assigned to security & traffic for the games. so you should be able to easily make it stadium to stadium w/i 2 hours if you don't get bogged down in CLemson traffic. Traffic into Columbia to the stadium flows pretty easily because it's all major roads and the stadium is located next to the state fairgrounds.

Clemson-Columbia is 2 hours.
AU-CU will be a better game than SC-NAVY. So if you do stay the game, you may miss a some the 1st quarter based on when the 1st game ends. This and Citadel are the only two games I'm confident we will blow them out.

This is exactly right. Clemson's post-game traffic is worse than Athens. It's a small town with basically one road to the interstate. Plus, if you get to Columbia after the 6:00 p.m. kickoff, you will have to park 1-2 miles from the stadium.
Great if you can do it though. Clemson is a great atmosphere -- and they're used to those noon games since they rarely play at night. Death Valley should be rocking with an SEC team in town. Way better than the usual Duke, Maryland, Wake Forest matchup.
The WB should be a great atmosphere as well. First home game of the season. Interesting and dangerous opponent. Probably will have a tribute to the military with a halftime fly over (or not, since the flyovers are usually Air Force F16's -- maybe we can get some F18's from Beaufort NAS).

Clemson traffic can suck pretty bad after a game.

Good luck buddy. I did this last year, went to UGA vs ULL at 12pm and then to Atlanta for UNC vs LSU at 8pm. I was tired but it was awesome.

it's been a while but I did a LSU/Alabama afternoon game in Tiger Stadium and a Tulane/ULL game in the Superdome at night before.

Back in the 70s, we had double headers at Memorial Stadium in Jackson. Games like Ole Miss Alabama early afternoon, MSU/LSU in the evening and then go the State Fair at the fairgrounds after that. Long day but was some fun times.

So you're saying we have a chance...
Here's my thinking:
If the Clemson game goes to OT we stay until the end and enjoy it. We then get out of there asap at the end. We'll have to assume that we will miss the beginning of the USC game.
If the Clemson game gets lopsided, we'll leave early to avoid as much traffic as possible so we can make kickoff in Columbia.
PS: We are also catching the LSU @ MSU game in Starkville Thursday night.

Sounds like fun. In 2003 I was able to do the LSU/Ole Miss game on Saturday, the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving, and LSU/Arkansas on Friday. Other than the Egg Bowl being a blowout in a monsoon, it was a bunch of fun.

Do it! Although, Clemson traffic blows... traffic for our game won't be that bad, because its the first home game and most people will be there early to tailgate.
