Talking to my buddy last night, he's a big AU fan and isn't very optimistic about next year anymore.

Are y'all feeling the same way?

I know this may be hard to believe but we actually try to "cheer" each other up (i.e. poor mouth or own team in order to reverse any jinx made against us) when it comes to each others team.

I couldn't really come up with any positives outside of Dyer and the kicker.

I think most AU fans would've thought Keil Frazier would've been playing QB by now if the QB had been subpar. I know most envisioned a much improved defense, especially in the secondary.

There's a good chance that in 2012 Auburn will be breaking in a new QB and a new DC. Are the hopes still as high as they were in the preseason?

Auburn will have a good team next year, and a favorable schedule. 10+ wins is likely, IMO.

Auburn will be better next year than they are this year. Juniors will be seniors, sophomores will be juniors, and freshmen will be sophomores is a good thing.

"Breaking in a new DC" will be a huge POSITIVE.

I'm more optimistic about next year than I was about this year because of line experience (both sides of the ball).

Reality still hasn't sunk in for many of the Auburn posters on the SECrant. They think they challenge for the west next year.

So Auburn, Arkansas, LSU and Bama will all win 10+ games?

I used to think the same thing, until Mike Shula came along.

Experience doesn't always equal better.

No, but I'm much more confident having a team that has experienced o/d lines.

While this is all true what should concern you is that Moseley will still be well....Moseley

You are assuming Frazier has zero improvement in the spring

I'm telling you what I'm seeing right now. I can't just assume that a guy that I have to believe is worse now becuase he isn't starting is going to magically improve exponentially.....right

I don't think any of us believe we'll be competing for a national title late in the season, but it'd be nice to be in a BCS bowl discussion again.

I don't think the DC job will be the only 1 being broken in. I think Gus is gone on to better things. JMHO.

I don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility that all of each of those teams' losses will come from the other teams.

Still optomistic. Think 10 wins or 10+. LSU will be tough to beat for the West, but we have them and home and will have a shot against them.

A team can make drastic improvements from one year to the next. 2003-2004 AU comes to mind as a team with basically the same group of talented players that just needed a year of playing together before they won big.

I highly doubt that with all that Arkansas loses after this year, they wil win 10 games next year.

If Auburn wins 10 games next season they will have to win the bowl game as well. I don't see this team winning 10 regular season games next year.

In two years we will finally have a normal junior and senior class and even with the tough schedule I could see us winning 10 in '13.
