I hope he get's one or the other. He's not just a great baseball guy but a great guy period. He needs to let someone down there know though that baseball exists outside of St. Louis, Way too many STL kids on the roster if you ask me. Get the cream of the crop but get the cream of the crop elsewhere too.

They need to make an outfield "Party Area" where they allow drinking. Problem is, they really can't create any seating in the outfield with how and where the stadium is situated.

MU won't be flagship baseball because of 2 parks and locations

SLU has the nice park where you see the Arch

SMS plays at Hammons

MU has to rebuild the concourse and expand the press box to get recognition. Then redo the cages and clubhouses.

I went to school and worked with Evan. I'm convinced he would replace G if asked but Jill won't let him.

Wicked burn, especially from a guy with an avi from the least relevant MLB team ever.

That's awesome sms. I was good friends with him from grade school up through legion ball. It's been great to see him getting his chances.

What league does SLU play in? SLU is least of Mizzous worries when it comes to baseball.

Didn't say it would be easy to become the flagship, but it's not impossible.

MO St has a great program and nice ballpark, but it is very possible that MO kids will want to come play in the SEC at MU, especially once the ballpark is renovated.

Evan liked the KC and little town kids usually. I think it's Jameson not being heavy on them.

When Evan was at SMS he tutored Curry, Burkhart, Jackson, Kennedy, all who were west side kids. I thought he was getting the SIU job at one time, but not sure what happened. He would've been scary there.

Have you been to or seen SLU's facilities?

Yes, am from STL and uncle played there; usually go to a game a year.

MU's facilities are top notch, but the ballpark is garbage. They're renovating the ballpark in the near future.

Mizzou is ten fold the college experience compared to SLU, and now in the premier baseball conference. Not saying it's a certainty, but it's very possible Mizzou becomes the states top baseball school.

It also doesn't hurt that MU has a great coach that isn't going to ever leave.

You think Jameson is a great coach? I don't. I think he is good above average.

I think Guttin is average to below average for reference

Yeah I do, especially for Mizzou. Good/above average is probably fair to say, but I think he is great for Mizzou.

Eight NCAA Tournaments in 10 Seasons
- Second-winningest coach in Mizzou history
- Most wins at current school among active SEC coaches
- 2007 Big 12 Coach of the Year
- Longest-tenured coach at Mizzou
- 14 30-win seasons
- Head Coach of USA Baseball Collegiate National Team (2011)
- Had coached eight All-Americans at Mizzou

We were decent in the Big 12. We aren't in the SEC. There's work to be done.

I don't get that because, correct me if I am wrong, but the Big 12 still had Texas, Oklahoma, A&M and even Nebraska was "decent" enough that I remember seeing them in Omaha with us one year last decade I think it was.

And I know we've faced A&M, Oklahoma and Texas in Omaha in recent years.

If you were "decent" among those guys, you should at least be able to compete ... make things interesting, correct?

I imagine that as the years go by, with all the fanatical SEC fanbases over college baseball and how fiercely competitive the conference is in the sport, that Missouri's program can only improve in every facet. Plus with all the SEC money pouring in, they'll have extra incentive to build their program to compare with the SEC levels, if theirs isn't already...

We're not. As I've mentioned before, there isn't the fan support. We're in a 100,000 person town, and we've pretty much got to draw the crowds from that. Obviously, it's got to become more important, but we really need to students involvement.

The cool thing about that is that the student population turns over at least every 5 years, so it shouldn't take long, assuming it's given a priority and there's a decent product on the field and atmosphere to watch.

I'm not as worried about baseball as I am about many other things that have arisen from the conference shift.

If Castiglione was still AD MU would be dumping money into baseball. I think if would've stayed MU would have better facilities and higher pay scales. But I also think he doesn't move MU to SEC.
