The OP has been answered, but here's another vote for an answer already mentioned: teasips comes from UT people sipping tea while A&M graduates went to war in WW2 days.

Check the series since the imposition of scholarship limits (the other main reason for texas' lockup of the state's talent), and get back to me. It's virtually a dead heat since they weren't allowed to just sit on the best players.
