JFF

JMO. Though you could argue E King Gill too if you consider him a "sports figure"

For me, it's not even debatable--EKG, or E. King Gill.
He was everything that we strive to be now

That said, I can list multiple players from various sports who embody Gill's spirit; but none will ever be the original article. Gill's willingness to simply stand for his team very much reminds me of the buddy stories we remembered yesterday on D-Day.

It's really tough to compare athletes across eras. Contexts, times, and ideologies are so dissimilar.

Probably not even top 40? 50? Not sure. Just my opinion, others may disagree.
He left his mark here, but not in the manner in which many others have.
He was meant to be in Tuscaloosa--that's where he shone.
But we're grateful for what he accomplished in Aggieland.

So Stallings is a more respected Aggie?

Pretty high because of Junction Boys. We don't really have that legendary coach that other schools have so our lists for this stuff are weird and arbitrary. If we are saying EKG is a sports figure then he is number one for sure. After that I'd say its JFF, followed by people like Dat Nguyen, RC Slocum, Gene Stallings, Uncle Jackie Sherrill, Emory Bellard, Bear, John David Crow and any number of guys from the early 90s/ Wrecking Crew era like Kevin Smith Aaron Glenn Bucky Richardson Kevin Murray etc.

We don't really have a clear cut number one because we lack that legendary coach like most big time football schools have

Yeah I would agree with that, he's a graduate and has served on the board. He was also a driving force in the SEC move supposedly
