So who does? Miles has won a natty and Richt has won the SEC twice.
Chizik won an SEC title and BCS title in three year at Auburn. I would take Sumlin, Freeze, and Pinkel over both.

PrettyBoy is all too typical of a large part of their underachieving problem.
Rather than demanding more, they're content to just make excuses for their failures.
PrettyBoy should change his handle to PrettySad.

lol
Miles and Richt have built and sustained better programs than all 3 of those guys.

How can you say that when Vince Dooley is sitting pretty with 6 SEC championships and 1 national championship? He also has over 200 wins to go along with them.
That's why I said arguably. Don't forget Richt has won the East 6 times.

Pinkel lol. 1 conference title (in the MAC) in 20 years of coaching.

That's laughable.
Chiz didn't have continued success like Miles/Richt have had. He was also unsuccessful at Iowa St.
Neither of those three have done anything in comparison to Richt and Miles.

We love our Dawgs. We win with them and lose with them. We are a fine program with a great tradition. Nothing to be sad about.

And with 6 SEC titles I'm pretty sure Dooley would have won the East at least 6 times if there were divisions when he was coaching at Georgia.

Bert Bilima is a spot or two too high, but otherwise the list looks good.

What's your point?
I don't think an argument can be made for Richt over Dooley. That's my point.
Though Richt is inarguably the second best coach in Georgia football history.

It's not hard to hit 8-10 wins consistently at those schools. Plenty of in-state talent. Both would be powerhouses with better coaches.

They both are. What are you talking about?

Better tell that to Gerry DiNardio and Mike Archer.

They already are powerhouses.

....and Curly. I try not to put Dinardo in with Archer/Hallman....just a personal preference.

And Gus out coached by Miles. See?
Gus is a long way from that rating right now.
he really isn't.
He's as brilliant of an offensive mind as there is in football, period. That really can't be disputed.
And he's shown that he can do it as a HC now, not just an OC, and turn around a program culture very quickly.
He's also shown he can recruit at a high level and hire very well. No reason he won't continue his current level of success he attained faster than anyone on that list.
If you make this list based on recent success and future projection, no reason Gus shouldn't be #1 or #2.

UGA isn't a powerhouse. They haven't won a NC in almost 35 years. Haven't even played for one.

To their credit, Georgia played for a national title in the 1983 Sugar Bowl. They were #1 and Penn State was #2. Penn State won 27-23, giving Joe Pa his first title.

They're normally a favorite to get to ATL, win a bunch of games, finished in top 10 under Richt quite a few times. I guess it's just how you define it.

I define a powerhouse as a team who consistently finishes inside the Top 10 and who is still in the conversation for a national championship in the month of November.
