Hey look...a corndog that understands the difference between the fact that Fournette had 9 yards vs Arkansas (thank God for that long run of 4 yards he ripped off....it was impressive), vs some writer's opinion that he's a breakout player.

If that makes you feel better I'm really happy for you.

He still had 9 yards and LSU hasn't scored on Arkansas during his career.

There may have been one worse rushing performance by LSU once....but hey...they did have Matt Forte....

It's safe to say he had a breakout year last year.

Good point, but so did players like Fournette, Watson, Cook, Allen, etc.

Brantley recorded 54 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. You had one job stat guy.

Our DL is so nasty. Reload

Harris and Loud are nothing looking great. Augusta is a load in the middle. This is all before Frazier and TBJ get here.

It looks like he posted his 2013 stats. I'm not sure why he didn't include his 2014 stats.

It was just so perfect that a Georgia fan made that comment.

My only issue with the list is how much did you have to do last year to be, or not be, on this list this year.

McMillan for OSU had 50+ tackles last year, and played prob 40% of OSU's snaps on defense last year. LF was LSU's top back by years end (maybe all year but he didn't get the carries).

Then the A&M/UGA fans have good points on their freshman from last year who had great years, but maybe they bust out even more.

To me, this list would have to be a guy who didn't take significant snaps for OSU last year. McMillan isn't a good choice, so I'll say Jalyn Holmes for OSU as a DE on the opposite side of Bosa

LF definitely qualifies. He's barely even tapped into his potential.

Chubb had his breakout season last year.

LF had 1,000 yards last year. You can say he has barely tapped into his potential, but 1,000 yards for a back isn't exactly commonplace at a school like LSU who runs by committee.

I'm not saying he won't be much better this year, just that the article has some guys who haven't taken any snaps, and a guys like LF and Cook who had pretty good numbers last year

Damn - since LF was just as good as Chubb last year, does that mean we should expect 6,000 yards and the heisman locked up by the Sam Houston State game?

Now how do you get that out of what I posted?

Look, you Georgia fans really need to get over this bitchfest about Fournette and be happy with the RB you have. He's one of the best in the country.

Ehhh, LSU will lean on a guy if he's strong enough. Jeremy Hill in 2013, Stevan Ridley in 2010, Charles Scott in 2008, Jacob Hester in 2007.

Fournette is more talented than all of those guys.

He only got over 20 carries a couple times last year, and he's going to be used more this year.

Is LF LSU's top breakout guy to you next year? Like for me, a frosh LB who had 50 tackles last year isn't a breakout guy in 2015. A guy who took 10% of the snaps last year, who may breakout to play 60% of snaps this year and put up big stats is a breakout guy

Since this list is obviously trying to spread the wealth across the country, it should really be about the #1 guy who didn't have a great impact on LSU's season last year who will this year...to me at least. LF had a significant impact on LSU's season IMO. That's all I'm saying

He had 20+ touches in 3 games last year and averaged less than 14 touches per game. If his average isn't up around 20 this year Miles/Cam need to retire.

Agreed. These should be guys that at the end of the year next year, you look back and wonder where they came from. LF was 80% of LSUs offense by the end of the year.

I will throw a name out there for UGA - Reggie Carter at MLB. I think our defense will go to the next level and if it does, it will be driven by play at middle linebacker.

Fournette is the easiest name to pick for a guy writing an Athlon article.

If I was picking the way you described I guess I'd probably say Ed Paris or Trey Quinn.
