Athlon and Lindys do rankings to sell their rags. Not always very objective. I'm surprised they are both still in print.

It’s hard to really rank the bottom tier. I don’t think Derek Mason is that bad of a coach.
He’s got a tough gig, but that’s what he signed up for.

Jim Harbaugh at #9 is amusing. What has he accomplished to make the Top 10 other than hype?

Of all the things to be upset about I find neither of these particularly controversial.

Harbaugh at 9 seems kind of generous, guy hasn't done anything in years.

So whats the difference between Moorhead and Pruitt that causes them to be 22 spots apart?

Just Fordham?

Yeah. I don't think Chip has proven himself to be an elite coach at all. Saban failed in the NFL because he didn't have control. Chip had that control and was still one of the worst NFL coaches of all time. He bailed Oregon to deal with the NCAA issues he left behind. UCLA will get to deal with these same issues in 3 years.

Chip Kelly went 47-7 at UO with all 4 years ranked in the top 11 and 3 of them in the top 5. He never got over the national title hump, but he won his conference 3/4 years and won his division every single year. The only reason he isn't top 5 is his failed NFL stint but as history shows, that rarely means anything as far as college ball goes.

Harbaugh at Michigan: 28-11 (71.8%); 10-3, 10-3, 8-5
Coach O at LSU: 15-6 (71.4%); 6-2, 9-4

One is #9, the other is #81

Harbaugh living strong off that 1 season at Stanford
