At what level would you place Clark on a starting 5 at the men's level?

To preface, in another sport, the USWNT, #1 woman's soccer team in the world, played an under 15 boys Dallas club and lost 5-2. Basically best women in the world lost to 14 year old boys solely from the Dallas metro by a fairly large margin. I think they lost 7-2 another year too, so happened twice.

Now I'm curious, where would you place Clark to be good enough on a male team to make a starting 5? Do you think she would make a starting 5 on a Louisiana high school like Edna Karr, Rummel, Byrd, STM, U High? Below that? A freshman squad for those type schools? I personally do not feel she'd make a Juco level team.

She can pass and shoot with anyone. The problem is physically she doesn’t have the speed or size to compete against grown men.

in a game of horse.. she would be one of my top picks.. other than that, she would get destroyed on the defensive side.and smothered on the offensive side

but in a game of horse.. she would be hard to beat

This is exactly why you can’t have dudes winning women’s championships because they decided they are women now….

She would not start for any men's team unless the sole focus is to sell tickets and generate interest due to the novelty of it.

Not if she had to use a men's ball.

A good high school boy's BB team would beat both South Carolina and Iowa.

People are forgetting that women's BB rules are a bit different from the men's....in addition, the size of the women's basketball is significantly smaller than the basketball used in men's BB (they have smaller hands).

It would be quite embarrassing for the women to see a college women's BB team go up against a good high school boy's team. That's no joke.

P.S......a men's BB team would DEMOLISH any women's pro BB team, as well. Women's coordination skills aren't nearly that of the men...same for college women vs. high school boys.

She is very, very good. But she can’t compete physically with a Div 1 men’s team.(And this the argument against trans players) The number of open three point shots, or inside drives to the basket would be a tiny fraction against collegiate men as is is against women. Now what would be interesting, as I’ve posted before, is a game of horse against the top collegiate men’s player.

People trot this thing out constantly as some sort of be all end all proof about how female athletes aren't very good.

However, in sports we can actually measure... like track and field or swimming and the like. World class female athletes are roughly the equivalent of really good (sub elite) high school boys.

Now of course, in a sport like basketball... size and strength matter a bit more than they might in time measured sports.

So ultimately, I think it is likely fair to say that Caitlen Clark could start at guard for a random high school boys team. Probably not a really good one... but for an average one with average guards.

My brother went to Baylor when Mulkey was there. He was in a frat where the B team of the frat, 2nd best squad of the 100 person frat, would scrimmage the Baylor Women's team. Back when they were #1 in the country I believe and won a nati. My brothers frats B team beat Baylor womens by 25+ each scrimmage they had.

In today's game, I think she would be a solid starter for a Class 7A high school, an all-region player at a medium-sized high school and a legend in the podunk private school associations.

Lol…can you imagine a collegiate Shaq or Charles Barkley using that big fat arse backing up move they used to foul other teams, against Clark or any other woman’s team?

This. Period.

She's absolutely amazing, but she's not a dude.

I guess u didn’t watch her get guarded up pretty good by UConn and SC defenders, she would struggle on a men’s team plain and simple

If we had a serious amateur team of men in Colorado Springs, she'd be in the starting 5 easily. In Denver or Atlanta? Probably not. That's about it. She couldn't play with even a semi-pro team. Agree she probably would not crack a juco level team lineup.

For women, she is the GOAT for now. I'd watch her play anyday. She's a great female player. No one can ever deny that.

The disparity really is that much.

This is true.

When South Carolina made it a point to guard her closely, she got shut down for the most part.
