Still fighting over it. Judge would not throw out the lawsuit.

No.

Which should have been obvious when they didn't try to afford Herman.

Our silver lining is at worst we have one more season with Sumlin and next year there should be a better pool for head coaching candidates.

Wouldn't put it all on Chavis.
Kevin Sumlin has become predicable.
2016 A&M offense in loses:
WR screen on first down lose 2 yards
Rush on second down gain 3 yards
or vice versa
It's why Aggies are 11th in the SEC in 3rd down conversion % lol.

Both sides seem to have hunkered down for a court fight, as in most civil cases like this, they get settled before atty fees, for both sides, start to mount. And they are mounting like crazy at this point. The Chief is arguing that LSU made some language changes in the contract after he signed it & LSU is arguing that the changes were insignificant & had no effect on the contract itself. Too, LSU has pictures of Chief in Aggie clothes, recruiting, at a date in time when he was still under contract with LSU. Common sense is that with the "demand" only being $400K, splitting it down the middle would be an easy solution. But from all accounts, no settlement talks have even taken place.

I think both teams will be happy to settle soon to move past it.

That would require Joe Alleva to quit acting like a petulant child, and as we saw with Tom Herman, that doesn't happen easily.

Look, Chavis is a lazy, over-the-hill arse and he's getting what he deserves at A&M. But Alleva has the emotions of a 13-year-old girl.

LSU will get the full $400,000.

That'll make up for the $200,000 A&M owes LSU for backing out of the series in the 90s.

Except LSU was the one who canceled the series with two remaining scheduled games for 1996 and 1997 after getting embarrassed five straight years.

Truly have no idea why anyone is laughing at us. After Florida gets blown out the water by Alabama. Florida, Auburn and LSU will all be sitting with 3 SEC loses. Soooo many other teams have much more to worry about other than laughing at LSU.

We lost to Wisconsin by 2, Auburn by 5, Alabama by 10 and Florida by 6. LSU and Coach O might have the last laugh.

Then why are y'all paying us the $200,000 buyout?

How many games were on that contract?

I mean yall might in two years after we have fired Chavis.

I can see it, your AD is irrationally emotional and $400k isn't a lot of money to us. It would be worth it to make it go away at that point.

We only fought it because Chavis wanted us to, but we are pretty close to not giving a frick what Chavis wants.

You think the new coach is going to retain Chavis for the last year of his contract?

That would be incredibly aggy.

Really? When did that change, after Guice's 45 yard TD run?

...or after his other 45 yard TD run?

No, I mean two calendar years. As in fire him at the start of 2018.

When our defense got worse in his second season.

LSU is just one game. Really the Ole Miss game is the one that hurts the most, they suck.
