Why didn't she?

She had thrown every pitch in the postseason for OU along with pitching the past 4 days straight with over 350 pitches. It doesn't matter that softball pitching is less taxing on your arm than baseball, that is a lot of pitching over a short amount of time.

I do think she would have been put in late in the game had OU still been up. But I am not convinced that she will even be 80% for the game tonight, but it was obvious she was spent last night just watching her warm up in the pen.

Good reading from those OU fricks...

At page 59 they are still full of piss and vinegar until the Auburn rally starts, and the delicious melt begins.

Same thing happened 2 years ago to UK, got all the way to the semi's in the WCWS and was up on Baylor 7 runs early. That was as far as it went tho as UK had only 1 pitcher and she was done. Baylor stormed back as Nunley was done and had no more to give while UK had no suitable (WCWS worthy) backup.

The whole AU team did not give up last night and that shows how much heart they have. There have been some great plays from lots of players, and that catch was amazing. The layout catch the night before was just as great. This team learned a lot about Parker Monday night, let's hope they can put it to use.

I think the rain out causing Parker to pitch without rest finally took it's toll on her pitching for 4 days straight. They were sending her back to OU to rehab and leep her going and she ran out of gas. She will be rested today and be tough to beat. I expect to see her back, but they will have someone ready to relieve her if she is not 100%.

As a spectator, is fastpitch softball the most entertaining female sport? It is for me and it's not even close. Amazing how much that sport has grown over the last 20 years.

That is how it was meant.

I'm a Bama fan and I jumped out of the recliner when she made that catch. That play certainly saved game 2 and maybe turned the whole series.

Awesome play and the blonde center fielder laying out the night before was a great play as well. AU has some damn good players that will lay it on the line.

Good luck tonight Lady Tigers!

Men who do great things in sports play it down and try to be so cool about it. Women on the other hand can not hide their emotions like that. When Howard caught that ball, the pure joy on her face was unbelievable. She will never forget that moment for the rest of her life and neither will a lot of the people who were watching.

They make it fun to watch, no matter who is playing. I throughly enjoyed last years tournament as well.

Very entertaining team to watch.

Myers has completely turned that program around. Until last year, Auburn had never even reached a Super Regional in the NCAA Tournament. Now in his 3rd year as head coach, they've won back-to-back SEC Tournament Titles and reached the World Series in back-to-back years as well... and they could win it all tonight.

Pretty impressive turnaround.

Yep. If that ball had not been cause and OU went up, I'm convinces Parker comes in to try to close the game and series out.

If you are referring to me, I never left.

Congrats on your dramatic win last night, in extra innings, against the rest of the shitty bullpen, so we could rest Paige Parker for game 3. That sure seems worthy of unbridled bravado.
